Roomba update.......
Well, after getting 3 different Roombas (due to problems), and getting 1 new battery and two new charging adapters.......it FINALLY WORKS! As mentioned in my first post, when the Roomba works, I LOVE IT! However, it was always giving me trouble by not charging correctly. I have the older plain model. I warned my mom that they were still having problems w/ the chargers, but she had just purchased the fancy model the night prior from HSN. She too has had nothing but trouble w/ the charger. She also recvd a call from Roomba people saying there were problems with her model and they were sending out a new charging adapter. (mine being a different model did not have anything to do w/ her problem). Long story short, I have happily been using my Roomba everyday and it has lasted over the regular 1-3 month time span. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will continue to work properly. So if you do decide to purchase one, make sure you have all the information about how to return or report problems. I found the HSN very easy since they already offer a return policy. You can now purchase them at many Targets/Walmart type stores and online. Call Roomba first before deciding what model you want to get. They may be more helpful about giving updates on the charging problems and if they finally have it figured out. The product still gets a thumbs up from me, but apprehensive about its long life. The Roomba phone customer service is very helpful, and for over a year they worked with me until I finally had a working product.
Dana, every time I vacuum I swear I think of you relaxing on your sofa with a glass of tea while your Roomba runs around the room vacuuming! (lol) Glad to hear you finally got all the problems straightened out.
LOL, I tease my mom all the time about how we vacuumed 3 rooms before leaving for school . You just can't beat it.
