Pampered Chef-What would you recommend?
I'm going to a Pampered Chef party tonight. I have never used any of their products. What do you love from them? Thanks.
I love their hand held can opener, it cuts so that the lid is not sharp. I have had mine for four years and it is still like new. I dislike electric ones. I also love their stoneware pans, I have all but the loaf pan, and they have great cook books Eve, the recipes are so quick and very easy. HUM...The must have if your an ice cream eater is the ice cream scoop its one of the ones that has the liquid inside and melts the ice cream just enought to get it out of the container. I have alot of P.C. b/c I ahve a friend that has been selling it forever! If I think of anymore I'll post
I have a kitchen full of pampered chef stuff. No I am not never have been a consultant, I just spent 3 years in Okinawa with nothing better to do then go to parties, and there were lots of them, lol! I love my bamboo spoons. And the twixit clips to keep my open packages closed. The kids love the citrus peeler. The measure all cups and spoons are great too. I have the professional set of pots and pans and love those too but you should have a party and use your 1/2 off credit if you want to buy those(they are very pricey). My dh loves his BBQ Turner, it has a bottle opener a meat tenderizer and a sharp edge. I use my colander set a lot, If you get those don't forget to get the lids. The food chopper is awsome. So is their crinkle cutter. Dh bought the kitchen knives and steak knives and we love them, they come with cases and built in sharpeners. And then there is the stoneware, I have a ton of it and I wouldn't use anything else. I still have some of the glass casserole dishes but I only use them when dh needs to take something to work, this way if he doesn't bring it home he still gets to live ! I love just about all of their stuff. The one thing I have that I can think of that I didn't like is the Oil spritzer. It gets real gunky and dosn't always spray right.
I love their apple corer and there's a grate/slicer I got years ago that I love. The stones are wonderful for pizza or cookies or bread, nothing burns on the bottom. I also have the wet/dry measuring cup.........I could go on and on.........as much as I hate to cook, I love Pampered Chef stuff!
oh ya, got to have the ice cream scooper, just dont put it in the dishwasher and don't leave it sitting in your ice cream. The gel that is in it heats up with the touch of your hand. I have bought several of these as gifts.
I used to sell PC so I have tons. My favorites are the chopper (I still have the old one--one day I'll get the newer one!), the stones and I use the knives daily. As far as stones go, I think (mho, of course!) the bar pan is the most versitile. It can be used for almost anything. I haven't been to a PC party in almost a year. I do have a friend that sells it, though, so if I need anything I just call her. I do agree with Bka, the can opener is nice. After using it for so long now I'd forgotten how to use a regular one. At church a couple months ago I had to ask someone to open a can for me because I couldn't remember! lol Oh, and the cookbooks are great. I think I have almost all of them. Have fun at the party. They're always fun (you get to eat!).
Eve, to be honest, there is nothing bad with Pampered Chef. I have never gotten anything that I have not been thrilled with. My best advice, get something that you KNOW you will use. Not something that you think is neat and might use. My persoanl favorite thing I couldn't live without is the garlic press. If you like fresh garlic, this is a must have!!
Gosh, everyone posted at the same time! lol I also used twixits every day. I think I have probably 8 sets of them! They're all over my pantry and freezer. I have an ice cream scoop that I use, but it's kind of like you have to relearn how to hold it. For me it was anyway. It does work well, though.
I have a kitchen full of Pampered Chef items too. Here are some of my Favorites: Stoneware Lg. Bar Pan (I use it for everything) Stoneware Lg Round Stone Mini serving Spatula Lg. Serving Spatula Mix N Scraper Classic Scraper Skinny Scraper Lg Batter Bowl Measure All Cup they have a small knife that only cost $1 but works great for cutting up small items. Two pantry must haves are the Italian Seasoning and if you like flavored Coffee you will LOVE the Pampered Chef Coffee. I also have the apple Peeler/corer/slicer and I love it I just NEVER use it. I have the Food Chopper and I love that as well but I never use it. I have tons more and can give you more ideas if you need it. Just have fun and enjoy all the yummy food.
I love Pampered Chef and I have quite a few pieces! My favorites that I use most often are the bread knife (never smashes the fresh bread when I cut it), the pie server is great (I use it for pies and cakes both), the julienne peeler, the measuring cup that has the sliding bottom, and I used to have the pizza stone that I absolutely loved, but my dh put a frozen lasagna on it in the oven and broke it a few weeks ago. I really miss it and I plan to replace it at the next party I go to. The only thing I have ever bought that I wasn't happy with was the vegetable peeler. I just wouldn't peel vegetables so I threw it away and bought a cheap Walmart peeler that works much better.
My kids like the round sealer (I think that is what it is called. We make pb & j sandwiches and then use the sealer to cut them into round shapes and "seal" the two pieces of bread together. My youngest will only eat a sandwich if I use the sealer on it first.
My favorite piece is the round pizza stone. With the stones, seasoning is the key. The more brown and ugly they get, the better they are. My round pizza stone is DARK brown because I use it so much, almost every day for baking things. I also have several other stones (the 13 x 9 deep dish, the round casserole with lid, and the large rectangular pan), all of which I do use from time to time, but they're all so heavy to handle that I prefer my pizza stone for daily baking. I also have the food chopper and the ice cream scoop. I love both. And the oil sprayer (fill it with vegetable oil and it sprays a fine mist of oil like Pam spray.) I have the adjustable (sliding) measuring cup and spoon too, but don't seem to use those as often as my regular ones. Have fun!
Thanks! Now, I can't wait to see all these products! I'll let you know what I get.
I love my apple peeler-corer-slicer! Without it, I don't think I would make as many apple desserts! I also love my potato-carrot peeler, the citrus zester, and my pizza stone.
i know i'm too late, but just wanted to add my two-cents. I have the chopper, pizza stone, big spatula ( don't remembr the right name for it), cheese grater, pizza slicer, frosting spreader thing, and my mom and i share the apple corer. IMO the apple corer slicer is kind of hard to use. I always end up peeling and slicing by hand. I think it depends on the kind of apple you use it with. I love everything else though! Hope you had fun! Let us know what you got!
Ok, it was really fun. I like their products. I loved the recipe that was made too-the cold pizza with cresent roll, cream cheese seasoned, with chopped fresh veggies. I like the pizza stone, but wasn't sure. So, I got the large baking sheet. I figure I can use it for other things and still get small pizzas on it. I also got the little pan scrapers, and the small spatula. Enough to test out some stuff!
I love the Cool Veggie Pizza! I make it all the time in the summer. I think you are going to love your Stoneware. Just remember DON'T WASH IT, just scrape it under hot water and let it get dark and grungy. It will work like a charm.
When DH and I got married a few years ago, we were given a number of pieces of stoneware, and I really love it, but it's so heavy!!!
I LOVE veggie pizza and was thinking about it today. I should make some.
