Its nasty outside
I can hear the sleet on my windows! Its to change to snow sometime tonight. I worry about my hubby who will be driving home in this mess around 11 pm. It takes 40 min when the roads are good to drive home. I wont sleep well until I know he is home safe.
Where abouts in PA? We have about 12 inches of snow, we have hardly and sleet/freezing rain. However, it started to snow around 3 pm and we have another good 3 or 4 out there! Ok, I need warm weather I really don't think they'll have school tomorrow
Wow you did get hit hard. I am near Philly. I just worry about hubby. I saw that Allentown was getting alot of snow.
I'm close to you, Trisa, and I've been listening to the sleet fall for the past 2+ hours. I hope your DH makes it home safe.
Thanks Sunny!!! Its really snowing out now. I am still worried but it sure does look pretty!!
Close to Philly also, in North Coventry. It was a light sleet ALL day. I went to KOP this afternoon and they were having nothing. So its been weird all day everywhere. But its been nice since my son loves it and wants to be out all the time, but his nose and cheeks get red too quickly. lol
I need everyone to stop recycling now please...global warming...come my way!!!!!!!!!! Today it was -44C without a windchill. The buses haven't run for two days but there is still school. They have a policy that they never cancel which I think is crazy. I had 9 kids today...I can't teach anything new to 9 kids...really a waste of time.
Getting COLD tomorrow. Below zero windchills for the next couple of days. Brrrr!
Oh, I forgot to say, though, when I leave the clinic where I work, around 5pm, it isn't totally dark out when I come out anymore. It's dark like 20 minutes later, but not when I come out. Spring is coming!
This is the second day in a row that school has been closed here. My driveways is one big sheet of ice! I could have put on ices kates and skated down my driveway to get the mail yesterday! This morning we woke up to a snowstorm! YUCK! I'm glad my dh only works 3 miles from our house! And i am happy i don't have to go anywhere today!
Well Hubby made it home ok. Only a 2 hour delay for school today. Alot of kids walk here. It takes my son 15 min to walk to school. Its still very slippy out and I dont think they should have had school today. Alot of people did not even shovel yet or put salt down on the sidewalks.
I'm glad your Dh made it home safe!
It's clear, sunny and cold here today. It's actually a beautiful day if the wind would just go away. We are supposed to get into the 50's today; yesterday we were in the 40's, which is cold for our area. We have had a milder winter than normal, which basically means we've just hit freezing or right below at night a handful of times.
COLD! Single digits and -12 to -13 windchill! Brrr! I can't believe we have to go out tonight for a church event.
Dawn , I think that cold weather is heading my way , the kids school has been closed 2 days now and I have a feeling tomorrow it will be also. We got alot of snow yesterday , 10 inches ! and now it is blowing and drifting really bad plus with the artic air heading are way I think things will be nasty tomorrow morn. It looks so pretty though .
Right now, it's -8 with a -32 windchill. So, why was my dog out there for 20 minutes? What an idiot!
-10 and -26 windchill. Under a "water" emergency since the intake pipes out in Lake Michigan are frozen up. Only supposed to use water for "essential" stuff. So, maybe I could skip my shower, but I better be able to use my toilet! Kohler company (sinks, toilets, bathtubs) a few miles away cancelled their first shift pottery and cast-iron production work. This is the first time in the 10 years we have lived here that this has happened and 1994 was quite cold, too. Oh, we still have school despite the cold and the water problem. Ugh! Yeah, they say you could keep your kid home, but my kids are in middle school and high school and I don't want them to get behind. Besides, we drive them there and they get dropped off right by the door, so really aren't outside much to get there.
