Looking for new chop recipe

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2004: Looking for new chop recipe
By Annie2 on Friday, January 16, 2004 - 11:59 pm:

I know this should be on the other board but I need one for tomorrow or Sunday.
I would like to crock them for tomorrow because I have no time to cook tomorrow or I could prepare them and cook them for Sunday dinner for an outstanding recipe.
I want to stay away from BBQ and Asian, if possible because I am tired of both. DH loves pork this way. I want to try a different taste.
Thanks!

I do a pork roast in the crock pot with this recipe, I bet it would work for chops. Put the chops in the crockpot, sprinkle a packet of Lipton onion soup mix over then, and then cover them in applesauce. This makes a wonderful gravy too.

A favorite of ours is to simply put the pork chops in the crock pot (you can brown them first, in the frying pan if you want...I used to do this, but then stopped bothering, I don't see a difference in taste) and them cover them with Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup. I use one can of soup per two chops. Cook on low for nine hours or high for five hours. I serve them over mashed potatoes (a friend said I could do rice, but I'm not a rice fan) and use the soup as 'gravy'. It's really, really good and the chops get super tender and just fall apart.

Dredge pork chops in a mixture of flour, salt, dry mustrad, and garlic powder.
Brown in oil in large skillet - both sides.
Place browned pork chops in crock pot.
Add can of soup.
Cover and cook on Low (200º) for 6 hours
or High (300º) for 3½ hours.

Wait forever pork chops

brown chops in a fry pan and season with salt and pepper.

mean while mix together:
1 C applesauce (more if using more than 5 chops)
1/4 C brownsugar
1 tsp.cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon

pour over chops.
cover and bake in preheated oven 350.
for one hour and 1/2.
turn heat down to 150 , keep in warm oven.
the longer they are held in warm oven their flavor seems to improve.(usually 1 - 2 hours)
