Thank You Thank You Thank You
Good morning I just wanted to say thanks for every thing you guys have done for Amy and I. I woke up in the hospital not knowing where Amy and my boys were, this was very scarry. I just wanted to know they were ok. once I saw them a new fear swept over me, what are we going to do we have nothing left. It wasnt until the day before I got out that Amy told me about all the donations and prayers that were being sent out and up for us it never hit me how much help we had really recieved till we got home and we had box after box of clothes and food and even furniture in our new house. So I just wanted to say THANK YOU again.
Great to hear from you!! I hope you're all getting settled and back to normal. We didn't just give YOU something, Mike, you (and Amy) gave all of US something too. You both gave us examples of heroism and courage and strength and love. You gave us an opportunity to pray and allow God's love and healing power show so evidently. Through everything that happened we witnessed new miracles and rejoiced in that. Welcome back and God bless you all.
You're very welcome!!
Happy to see you posting again!
Your welcome! I am just so glad things turned out so well and you and your family are all getting settled in your new home.
You are very welcome! That's what friends are for Glad to see you posting again. Hopefully you guys are getting settled. ((((Spencers))))
I will tell you and Amy what people told me when they were spontaneously generous to me in my times of need - pass it on when you get a chance. That will be the best thank you.
Mike, I am just so glad that you are here and able to write a thank~you! You and Amy are an awesome couple! You guys will always hold a special place in my heart.
Great to hear from you Mike. I never knew who you were before this but I must say, I have never prayed so hard for someone to recover than when I was praying for you. I am so thrilled that you and Amy will be able to move on from this and I agree with Ginny, the best way to thank us is to pass it on when you get the chance.
So happy to see you posting. It was such an overwhelming event, and you guys have already had such a tough year! Here's to better times ahead.
It is so great to see you posting, that alone is thanks enough. Always remember, if HE brings you to it, He will bring you through it...
Great to see you back on the board, we missed you. Big ((HUGS)) to you, Amy and the kids. You truly do have angels watching over you.
I too am glad to see your smiling face back on the board, Michael. Not too many people are a hero twice in one year or even in their whole life, but you are indeed our MV Resident Hero, first risking your life for your country and then doing it again for your family. I am so proud to have you as my son, and I know your mom was so proud of you too as she watched over you until the fireman arrived. Give the kids a big hug and kiss from Mimi, and I hope you guys get to come down to visit soon. You're welcome to stay with us! *hint hint* BTW, hope your little "accident" today is feeling better. *wink wink* Love, Moms
I know I wanted to help, because I can't say I won't ever be in that situation too and in need of some help myself. I'm just glad you all are doing so well! God Bless.
I used to post here a long time ago and started lurking again around the time of the fire. I am so glad that you are both healthy and your children are doing well!
You a very welcome! Glad you are all getting back on your feet.
You are welcome! I am glad you are back with us. Tell Amy hi for me.
You are most welcome!! We just rejoice that everyone is home, and together. (BTW...YOU gave us all a good SCARE! LOL! But, we love you all anyway!).
I've been following your story. It hits so close to home because we also barely escaped our burning house just over a year ago (we were all asleep and our dog woke us up - I, like Amy, had to run past the flames). We lost everything, but fortunately we were well-insured. We, too, were amazed at the outpouring of assistance and donations from both friends and complete strangers. I know what a difficult and turbulent emotional time the first few months are, but it does get better. The only thing that matters is you all survived and are well.
Anita, did you have trouble falling asleep after the fire happened? Or did you have trouble constantly replaying the event in your head? I can't stop thinking about it, and I'm terrified at night.
Of course, it's only natural. That's part of the "difficult and turbulent emotional time" you'll be experiencing now and in the months to come. But it gets better. It's a healing process, so let yourself feel those things -- you can't get past it if you don't let yourself feel it. But realize that it IS just part of the process and it does get better.
Gee, I'm not sure I said it enough in my last two posts, so maybe I should reiterate -- it gets better! LOL
We had a fire in our apartment many years ago. No one was home, we were insured, and most of our stuff was only smoked. But it was at least 2 years before I could hear a fire engine siren without having my knees buckle. Amy, just be sure you have a smoke detector outside every room, and inside if it makes you feel better. And, it will get better. Don't forget, if you need help, counseling is always a good idea.
