Any moms in Maryland?
I am just curious how many moms are here from Maryland. We should get together in person maybe once a month or once every three months just to hang out. I am so bored here in the house everyday, I just need to get out but I don't really have any friends with children so there's nothing really to do. maybe we can set up meets like at the aquarium in baltimore or discovery zone. I would never go by myself but it might be fun with other moms.
Tracie, I love to go to the aquarium. We are in MD right on the border of PA. The last time we took Timmy he did quite a show of asserting his independence and promptly threw a temper tantrum right in the middle of the shark tank set up. I was tempted to make him part of the exhibit.
I'm not in MD, but does your community have a Recreation Center? Ours has programs for all ages. The public library has story hours and so does Borders. My town has a PAT (Parents as Teachers) program (birth to age 5) that provides free playgroups, developmental screenings, home visits and parent educators through the public school system. There are also other national, nonprofit organizations that provide activities and support for mothers. It would be worth seeing if there are any local chapters in your area. Parents As Teachers Mothers and More MOPS You can also look for other moms in your area through MatchingMoms.Org When we were new in town and my kids were very little I enjoyed going to the PAT activities. I used to belong to Mothers and More, when I lived in NH, and that was fun as well. It gets much easier when the kids start school and you meet lots of other families.
Trina, THANKS! I went on that website and there are many moms on there who are close by. I also found out about MOMS club and they have a chapter that is right near my home. ((((((Trina))))))
You're very welcome!
