Anyone collect Fiestaware?
I have a small collection. Just wondering if you have one color or mix all the colors. I mixed all the colors. But I tend to buy alot of white pieces lately. considering just getting several white place settings so we can have all white at the table from time to time. Do you know of any good sites to look at original fiesta colors?? I cant find a site that shows the original fiesta colors. (1936-1973)
The only place I can think of is Ebay. Or check in google for replacement dish fiestaware How are the white dishes holding up? I got some white dishes and they scratched up like crazy very fast. Big black marks from the knifes. Never seen dishes ruined so fast. They where a fancy brand from Macys too. Pfaltzgraff I have artic white and another one too that scratched up. Learned to take a knife at the store and see if the dishes scratch up. Anyway, I just got some plain Dansk Sandiago dishes. They are plain putty colored dishes with a nice rim. They seem to be better than the pfaltzgraff I got.
My mom has been collecting Fiestaware for about 5 years now. She only has the different colored ones and I have never noticed any black marks or scratches on her's. In fact, I have never seen any white ones. I love all the different colors, it really adds color to her table when she uses them. Our Hallmark store in town carries them - they also have a bridal registry there, so they carry more than just your typical Hallmark items. I went in their one time and they had a list they gave me of all the different Fiestaware items with the colors. If you have a store close by that sells them, they might could help you out. I have seen these item on ebay a lot as well.
Feona, Pfaltzgraff has a special cleaner that gets rid of the marks. I have Pfaltzgraff dishes, and in fact, also use the cleaner on my white, porcelain sink. You can see it here... Pfaltzgraff Stoneware & Porcelain Cleaner
Thanks~ I will check ebay! And I had not thought of asking in Dillards if they have a list of the old colors. I'll do that. Feona, I just ordered a white place setting~ it should be here today or tomorrow. So, I will let you know how it holds up to the knife test. We have been using all the different colors and I am just starting to add white pieces. I have a white creamer & sugar set, white platter, white utensil crock, white stovetop salt and pepper shakers... So I havent noticed what you mentioned above yet... I have seen the dishes you got and they are pretty! I have also started collecting the Pfaltzgraff Pistoulet collection. I have 2 pieces from that collection. They are really cute.
Conni, I have bought almost all of my feistaware on e-bay.I collect all the colors,my favorite`s are tourqoise(sp) and tangerine. Also we have a chain store here called younkers and they have good sales alot of times for feista ware.
The Betty Crocker catalog has a great selection of Fiestaware...that is the catalog you can order from a BC product and use those points you get on all their products. Prices are good too.
My MIL has some original fiestaware. She has quite a few different colors. My SIL has fiestaware as well, but hers is the new stuff. (is the new stuff called fiestaware as well?)
Thanks, Trina. I tried the special cleaner you mentioned but my dishes were too far gone and the cleaner didn't work. I gave the dishes away because I was embarressed to use them with company with the black marks on them. They were cover on the front and back by thousands of black marks. I would never throw out perfectly good dishes but these were ridiculously scratched. Wish I had a picture for you to see.
