My friend who just had her baby at 23 weeks, the little guy needs blood. I want to have a blood drive but have not a clue on how to get started? Any ideas?

I would call the Red Cross and ask them how you go about doing it. They should have suggestions as to what you need to do and where.

I know that when Joe was in the hospital we were told that we could go to the blood bank at the hospital & donate in his name.
I would think though that Bobbie's suggestion about the Red Cross is a good one.

The blood bank at the hospital wouldn't be able to handle high traffic. I am assuming you are talking like a county wide blood drive.

Otherwise, in a smaller quantity, you could email local friends and family and ask them to forward to their friends and family, requesting they donate blood for the baby at the hospital he is in. Call the blood bank and ask them what they are needing the family to do and how many people they can handle at a time. etc..

But if you are going BIG with this, all county, then I would really get the Red Cross involved.
