Winter storm is in Ohio!!
Well, we finally are getting the winter storm they have been talking about for a few days. It started snowing here about an hour or so ago and I bet we already have at least 2 inches!! I wouldn't mind one bit except dd is having her 13th birthday party tomorrow (it was Thursday) at the local hotel in the swimming pool! I hope everyone can still make it! She is excited that there will be snow and they will be swimming!
We have 6 inches on the ground here, as of now, Katie just went out and measured. It has stopped for now, but we are supposed to get snow through 7 tomorrow night. Callie is at work, the place is PACKED and we are under a level one snow emergency.
We've had a bit off and on today. We're supposed to get hit over night and all day tomorrow, and they're saying we should get a couple of inches per hour. Oh, yay! We already have tons on the ground. It sure is going to be a white Christmas this year!
We got about 10 inches on Friday and another one just started. This one is a noreaster and it's supposed to be nasty.
We got about 2-3 inches yesterday. It snowed ALL day! Yikes, sounds like some of you, had it much worse. Did the party still happen?
Well, this ended up being a dud for us. It completely stopped snowing about 5pm and then sometime overnight, it started to rain! Just about everything we got yesterday is gone already! So far, it isn't freezing rain though, so that is good. Bummer, I wanted lots of snow!!
Maybe there is still hope for me! We are part of the south of Akron group, so not as much for us.... but just maybe.... CLEVELAND -- After a night of rising temperatures and rain, Northeast Ohio's weather will undergo another tranformation this morning. As of 7:00am, the center of the storm is overhead. This storm was expected to move more to our southeast, but last night took a left hand turn over Cincinnati and came right up I-71. Now that the storm is here, changes will be rapid in the next few hours. Temperatures will be dropping quickly and that will get the snow cranking once again. A Winter Storm Warning is still in effect for areas from Mansfield to Ashland to Akron to Kent to Warren. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for areas south of Akron. Once the snow starts to fly we are expecting accumulations today from 2"-4" south and west to up to 6" north and east. Then Lake Erie will get into the game starting this evening. More accumulations are likely in the snowbelts (secondaries included). Wind will also be a big factor for the day. From the west/northwest, winds will be whipping from 20 to 30 miles per hour and gusts are expected to exceed 40. This will cause considerable blowing and drifting snow and reduce visibility significantly. Wind chills will be bitter.
We're in Central IN and got about a foot lastnight. YAY!!! The wind is brutal though!
We didn't get any more snow until this morning and it is coming down now. We missed out on the rain, thank God. We, however, are under a level 1 snow advisory in the county, the main roads in town were clear last night and when I got up this morning. Now, not so much...
We are in Ofallon, Il about 16 miles from St. Louis and we got probably 8 inches which is good for us. Usually we don't get much, so our kids our excited!!! We took our little weiner dogs outside and our one little dog pumpkin was pushing the snow around with her chest like a snow plow!!
In Grand Rapids, MI we get to expect some lake effect snow today. So far, we have about 6 inches of snow. It will get very windy later.
We are under a winter storm watch right now. We are supposed to get 15-20 cm today and tonight before it turns to rain and we get 20mm of that. Then on Tuesday it's supposed to get cold again so all that wet yucky snow will freeze...should be a great mess. I wonder if we will get a snow day on Monday!
We are near Cleveland. Yep, it snowed about an inch or so yesterday but when we woke up, expecting to see lots of snow, it had all melted! But now i'm looking out the window and it's all of a sudden snowing like crazy! It is the kind that looks like it won't let up for a while too, big flakes flying all around. I'm going to have hubby start a fire in the fireplace, make some hot cocoa and read a book under a blanket! be careful if you have to drive anywhere, i hate driving in the snoe!

I want more snow! We still have well over a foot of snow from our 12/1 snowstorm. We've had flurries here yesterday and today, but the big storm went just south of us, so we won't really get any accumulation. Stay safe and warm everyone.
We got about 4 inches with the current system, thankfully the ice from the last one has pretty much melted off, so this one wasn't a big deal. Stay warm!!
OK so we are in Michigan and we got 1 foot of snow here I hate it. I just shoveled so much it is crazy. I pray it doesn't snow anymore. I love to look at it from inside but to shovel sucks!!!
Oh how I miss living in Michigan this time of the year!!!! I am definately a snow person and that was my favorite thing about living there!! We just don't get very much snow here in Tn.
