Nintendo Wii
So after researching all the video game consoles that are out there, I decided with hints from the kids to get the nintendo Wii. Oh my gosh, everywhere is sold out. Its nuts! Its looking like I have to buy one on e-bay. I'm curious if any of you moms have the wii and what you think of it. Also, how much did you pay for the wii?
Hi from Japan. We have wii at home. Kids sometimes play with it. They like Nintendo DS more than anything else. But we bought a Wii Fit for their Christmas present. I think I will be the one to play with it for my excersise while they are out for school. LOL This is where I bought wii. http://www.amazon.co.jp/s/ref=nb_ss_fg_eng?__mk_ja_JP=%83J%83%5E%83J%83i&url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=wii&Go.x=10&Go.y=9
We have a Wii as well. Got it a few months ago. Our dd is only 3, so it's basically for us! DH and I have had a lot of fun playing it together. Definitely a family fun game console, that really nearly everyone can enjoy. We paid $250 for ours, and just got lucky one day when we found it in the store. They are out of them everywhere here as well.
We're looking for a Wii, too, but have pretty much given up until after the holiday. The Japanese version is available, but I hesitate to buy that for use in the US.
We did end up getting one of the bundles out there. Dh researched the heck out of it and priced everything out seperate and said it was a good buy?? I honestly have no idea. We got the console, 5 sports games, 2 of the game stick things (can you tell I know nothing about them LOL) the hi def cables and the charging things. I think the whole thing was about 500.00 to 600.00. Still less than we were seeing as far as price goes from Ebay and most stores that were offering bundles.
We got one, but I bought it back in September. Even then, I looked for months before I found one. I just happened to be by a Game Stop one day, I went in, and they had 1 left from a shipment they had gotten that morning. Dh and I are as excited as the kids to use it. My dks have been asking for one since the beginning of summer, so I was happy we were able to find one. We paid about $250.00 for it.
They are sold out in Canada too. My SIL got one but she bought it months ago. You may have to put a picture of it under the tree and buy it after Christmas.
We got one last christmas. My children love it. It gets used as many days a week as I let them. We have collected several games by now and there is a little something for everyone. As for getting a wii. Check out your local game stop. They aren't doing a list, but get in a shipment about once a week. You just kind of have to be there when the ups man comes. Timing is everything.
We had the same problem! Decided to get one at the last minute and had NO idea how crazy it would be to try to get one. However, a couple of hints... Wal-mart gets a shipment in every week of the console. Our gets the shipment in every Tuesday at around 10:00. I was told to be in electronics hanging around about 9:00 a.m.. The Wal-mart bundle online is actually a good deal if you have that much money to spare. It includes several games and an extra Remote, etc. And you get to choose which games online that you buy. I used a wiitracker to get ours. www.nowinstock.net is the best one, I thought. They will e-mail you to let you know a wii is available online, but you have to get to them right away because they sell out fast! I did manage to get mine in just a few days from Toys R Us using the wiitracker. But I checked it religiously! LOL! Check your Sunday ads asap every week and if they have one listed, get there before the store opens. Good luck! I am so excited about ours!
We have one, and the whole family enjoys it.
We got ours at Game Stop, like Kaye suggested. No one else has them. We ended up getting an Xbox 360 a few years ago from Game Stop as well. Just by chance!
I stopped at the game stop today. They said to call every morning, they should have a shipment coming in soon. I also love that Wii tracker, very cool. I keep checking it. You ladies are great with all your info. Thanks so much. Wii sounds so much fun. We need more family get together time. The wii might help
We were at the firestation seeing Santa the other day. When the kids were writing notes to Santa about what they wanted (after they just told him what they wanted) the teenaged boy behind the table read what they wrote and mouthed "BJ's" to me. So if you have a local Bj's, look there for a Wii. We got ours right after Halloween, so we are all set! We got DDR, Hannah Montana and a Mario Bros. game for it too. Should be a fun Christmas morning!
I don't know where you are but the game stops around here have waiting lists for them and they will call you when your name comes up. My sister got on about 5 and one called her so she took her name off the other lists. I got ours about a month ago at Fry's and the guy that works in the video game dept was nice enough to tell me when they were getting their next shipment in so my DH went that morning and got one. Good luck getting one!
I have gotten info that all Target stores are supposed to have a shipment on Dec. 16. You need to be at the door before they open, though.
Ohhh, I will be at Target!
