DD wants a canopy. She currently has a four poster bed, but the posts aren't QUITE high enough to attach a real canopy frame to. I have been looking online and have seen the very common 'hoop' that you suspend from the ceiling and the netting hangs down.

If you have these, is there enough netting that I can drape it ALL around ALL four posts, or is it something that only encases the front half of the bed? I realize I would have to hang this in the center to be able to reach around the whole bed IF enough netting comes with it in the first place.

Are they totally flimsy?? Are they easy to accidentally yank out of the ceiling? Easy to snag and rip?

Do you know of another type of ceiling mounted canopy that would better go around all four posts and make a rectangle?

I saw this in a magazine, it might not work for you as she already has the posts.

In the magazine they attached crown molding to the ceiling in a rectangle above the bed, then hung curtain rods inside the crown molding and attached shears to the the curtain rods. It looked lovely. If I can find the photo and scan it in, I'll post if for you.

No it is not long enough or full enough.

Yes, my daughter's ripped out the first month.

One idea is to buy the bed risers so
1) more storage under the bed
2) the posts will be higher to attach the canapy to.

Dd has the hoop type thing over her bed and there is MORE than enough to go all around her bed. She has a full size bed too! It has been over her bed for almost 2 years and she has never yanked it out yet! I would say it is pretty sturdy! Maybe they make different kinds, but the one she has I would think would work great for what your looking to do!

I also know that places like Bed Bath and Beyond sell these things that hang from the ceiling at 4 places because one of my DDs friends has one it is really cool but more expensive than the circle ones.
