Anyone here from Vermont?
I have been wanting to go to Vermont for Christmas for many years, and we are thinking about going. It just looks so "Christmas-sy" and beautiful!! But I don't have a clue as to where to go; which place has the most Christmas events going on, etc.Do you have any suggestions? We are thinking about a B&B, but would a hotel be less expensive? Neither of us ski.I just want to see a lot of snow, walk thru picturesque little towns and take a sleigh ride on Christmas day.
I am not from Vermont, but we go there quite a bit. We are probably going to end up moving there - or rural Maine or NH, at some point. This place is great, but it's a little pricey and it's wayyyyy up in the Northeast Kingdom. http://www.wildflowerinn.com/ we rented the schoolhouse cottage for a long weekend and it was perfect. There is also The Inn at Mountainview Farm. Other towns to check out - Woodstock Vt, St. Johnsbury, Vt. - Burlington is nice, but more of a city. Let me know if you want any other ideas. It may be cheaper to stay in NH at a border town and drive over to Vermont.
Here is a good site to check out too. http://www.vtliving.com/index2.shtml
I'm not from Vermont, but grew up in New Hampshire, which is very similar. You could stay in Keene, NH, which is a nice town, and drive over to the Brattleboro, VT area.
Never been there, but visiting some year, in the fall, would sure be a nice trip!
I lived near Brattleboro for a few years. If you don't want the long drive up to Burlington, Brattleboro and Bennington are the way to go. And in between is Wilmington which has many nice shops to visit.
Thanks! We are still in the thinking stage. We are coming in to a small amount of money, and I want to do something special with it. I'll let y'all know if we get to do this
