Physics Test
Mechanical Aptitude Test It's the Ford Doctors Diesel Technician Society website. LOL! DH drives a diesel car, so he's on a message board for VW TDI owners. Yes, he's a diesel geek! (In fact, that's someone's user name.) He emailed me the quiz, and I took it this morning. It's 50 questions and quite the brain-teaser. I don't know his score, but he didn't pass. I got a 68%, so I didn't pass either, but was quite amazed at some of the questions I did get right. I think there are a few questions, that I would have gotten right if I'd gone with my own instinct, instead of the hubby standing over my shoulder. Sarah, who just got done taking 2 years of physics in high school, including AP physics, got 58%. Can you say feeling smug right now? LOL! I haven't had a physics class since 1978, in college! LOL!
I got a 52. I didn't understand 99% of the questions!! LOL! Never took physics, don't regret it.
LOL, ditto Kate. I score 60%. It reaffirmed my decision to stay away from physics! LOL.
I scored 58% so I failed. No surprise there! Math type problems are not my thing. LOL I am going to have my dh take this test though because he is a master diesel mechanic and I would love to see his score.
I failed terribly at 46%
I am a freak, I did very well. I love logic/math problems which is what I felt like a lot of these were. Maybe I should get a job!
Whoa. I got a 52%. I thought I'd do better than that, LOL!
I did fairly well with a score of 78%. I enjoy math and remember a lot from the physics courses I took in school.
Interesting! DH got 65% the first time and 72% the second time he took it. So, I did better than him, on the first try!
LOL! I got to about 20 questions and realized how a)I've absolutely NO aptitude for this whatsoever and b) I don't care!!! LOL All you smarties...you go girls!!
EEK, I did horrible, right with you Sandysmom! on #32 I think, a bubble popped up with 'correct", I thought that was the only one I got right Almost, but not quite!! NONE of that is how my brain works! I sent it to my nephew who just graduated from Auto Tech school.
I got 66%, which absolutely amazes me. I wish it would let you know which you got right or wrong and the correct answers.
I got 60%.
68%
Okay, from the looks of all of your scores, and from the nature of your posts, I'm not even gonna attempt this one! I do just enough math to get by, and that's too much for me! I definitely won't elect to do it!
Well.....since the word MATH is involved...I'm not even going there !!!!!!
It's less math and more vocab and knowledge of how pulleys/levers/sprockets work, really. I'm not much of a mechanical physics person as my major was Biology. But, I tried...and got a 68%. You can check your answers at the end and see which ones you got wrong. I got a couple of them wrong because the picture was not clear. I couldn't believe how long it took me too...I started getting impatient at #16 but kept on because it was somewhat addicting! LOL
Ginny, there were icons you could click on and even print out your test. I got to see all of my questions on the computer, though, too. They were in the upper right hand corner. Yeah, Heidi, you should have heard me whining - "Not another gear to figure out!" I was pretty happy with my 68%. Question 41 had to do with a piston with 14 sq in on the top and 2 sq in on the bottom being pushed on with 50 psi. I got that one right and I'm amazed.
