I need sewing / material info.........

I'm thinking about making baby quilts and bedroom accessories to sale. I have always used basic cotton material, which turned out pretty, but they faded very quickly. What kind of material can I use that doesn't fade, at least not so fast? TIA

There are different qualities of cotton fabrics. If you go to a fabric store, the quilting fabrics are usually a nice thick quality cotton. I've had good luck with them :) If you buy the $2.00/yard cottons at Wal-Mart, they don't last as long.
Also, the designer fabrics are very good quality. I am making a quilt right now with some Amy Butler fabrics that are of great quality. Also Joel Dewberry just launched some great new fabrics. Heather Bailey is another favorite of mine. All of these fabrics hold up really well after many washes.

Thanks,Breann. How would it work, money wise, if I bought a set of sheets ( like Cars,Pirates of The Carribean, etc) and made the quilt out of it? Do you think it would cost more or less to do it that way?

100% cotton fabric from a quilt shop or you can buy online. Good quilting fabric will probably cost upwards of $6-7/yard. Thimbleberries and Moda are two popular quilt fabric manufacturers. A more affordable way to buy a stash quickly is by buying "fat quarters." These are pre-cut pieces that are about 18" x 26" and are usually about $2 each. Then you can get a wide variety of fabrics. You can find fat quarter bundles on Ebay often for good prices. I would not recommend using sheets at all. Those character sheets are usually poor quality and thin, fade, and pill.
