Good site for setting up a blog?
I'd like to start a blog and wondered what are good sites to do this? I've checked out blogger, and actually started one there, but not sure what I think about it. What sites do you all use for your blogs? TIA
I love blogger. DH has used blogger and wordpress. I detest Xanga.
I have my own domain, so I have wordpress on my domain. It's a lot of work to set it up, though. My kids use blogger and it's really easy to use. Blogger Dawn's Blog Emily's Knitting Blog
Thank you ladies. I think blogger seems very easy to use as well, but when I scroll through the other blogs, it seems like a place for people wanting $ from ads.??? I'm still working on my blog through blogger, so still learning about it. Thank you both, because I've never heard of wordpress or xanga.
Whether you incorporate ads or not is completely up to you. Many Blogger blogs don't.
I think it's your choice to put in the code for Google Ads or something like that. I just checked 3 blogs that I regularly read and there are no ads.
Deanna, because Blogger is a free service, many companies take out blogs full of ads in an attempt to get a few "clicks". I think the majority of new bloggers start off with Blogger. If you find yourself sticking with it, there are several services that you can pay for that weed out the spam bloggers and offer more customizations.
I checked out Wordpress and like it better!! I set up a new blog there. I just kept going through blogs at blogger and not seeing "real" blogs, so it was a little discouraging. Also, other blogs that I read aren't on blogger, so that made me wonder also. It's really easy to use though, and a great place to get started without having to think too much. I think I like Wordpress better. Thanks for suggesting it.
