Costume wig help
It may be early for Halloween stuff, but I need help. DD wants to dress up like Hannah Montana for Halloween and I got one of those wigs. I have tried to attach it to her head with bobby pins and putting a cut off stocking on her head and then putting the wig on. But no matter what I do, it slips backward off her head. There were no instructions in the box regarding attachment, just care instructions. Can anybody tell me how to attach it to her head so it doesn't fall off her head at school or the other things she wants to dress up for?
It sounds like it is too big. Maybe tie a scarf around her head to tighten it around her head. I am surprised the bobby pins are not working. Are you putting some right at the forehead?
Some Walmarts carry double sided wig tape or a product called It Stays which is like a roll on glue that is washable.
hmm, my dd wants to be Hannah Montana too. Now i'm not looking forward to the wig part! Did you get the whole costume, or just the wig? We were planning on getting the wig and then some stockings and a skirt. She probably has a cute enough top to wear. I didn't like the Hannah Montana costume they had a Target, it was all black and depressing. I think Hannah wears more colorful outifts, but then again i have stopped watching it all together because i am so SICK of the Disney Channel...but that's a whole other topic! LOL
We just bought the wig and it's a good wig. I got it at Justice for Girls. Dd has some cute clothes with some bling that she can wear. There was only one size of wigs. Actually there is no size on the box but it may be intended for 10 year olds, not 6 yo. I'll see if I can find either of those products.
If you can't find the tape or the roll on glue you can try using The Glue Tube, you can get it in the craft section at Walmart, it's water soluable as well. Just use a small amount at the temple area. Alternatively you could use those clip type barrets that were originally used for sewing, not sure you know what I mean. You can get them in the hair section of any store like a pharmacy or walmart.
