Okay history first: abnormal pap in March and then again in June. Biopsy done beginning of August and now I get told Cervical Dysplasia today. Apparently it's a low grade (not sure what that means) and now I have to go back for another pap in November to see what's going on.

I'm so frustrated, I HATE waiting for things especially when it comes to your health. Doesn't dysplasia mean "cancerous cells" if so why can't we do the freezing/heat to get rid of them, it's scary. Alot can happen in three months.

Anyone gone through this waiting game? Is this normal?

According to WebMD and some other websites I ckecked out, Cervical Dysplasia is the term they use to refer to the initial appearance of abnormal cells in the cervix prior to cancer cells developing. You are probably waiting because they grow very slowly.

Consider yourself very fortunate that this has been caught early. Your chances are excellent because this will be treated early.But when you need to whine, come and get us.

Christy, have you had a chance to talk with your doctor about the biopsy? I haven't been through this, but I can understand why you are feeling frustrated. I would too. I hope you'll get some answers soon.
