End of summer
Anybody else hate the end of summer? I am such a summer gal LOL.. I love summer, I love everything it represents. I know we had some VERY hot days, and more to come. It does not bother me, to me that is summer. I love the sleeping in, the not really having any set schedules. I love the walks after dinner when the sun is going down. I love that it stays light outside later. I love going for ice-cream, just because. Summer is such a big time around here, as all 3 of my kids have summer birthdays. There is something exciting about the kids starting school again, but its sad that it means summer is over. Yes we will have warm temperatures throughout September. I just wish summer lasted longer.
I feel the same way, Jackie. Actually, I'm envious of you because you're in VA where it's warmer. New England winters are long and cold. I absolutely LOVE Summer! It's my most favorite time of the year, so I'm sad when it comes to an end. I'm not looking forward to having to wear shoes, sweaters, jackets, etc.
I love summer too! I love just having days that are totally play it by ear, and not having to rush around and get everyone out the door in the morning. on another note..some spots in NH actually had a frost warning last night AND I saw 2 flocks of geese flying south.
I'm usually sad about summer being over, too. I love being able to sleep in, until about 8:00, if I don't have to work. I love the light in the evenings. I love not having to wear a jacket, although, the last 2 days have barely been in the 60's and I've been wearing a jacket. I'm sad that my flowers will die soon and the trees will lose their leaves. I see birds coming together, in preparation for flying south and that tells me fall is coming, too. There are even a few trees just starting to change colors.
I hate the end of summer, too! I love the heat, and don't complain when it's over 100*. I love sleeping in and having no routine. I am not at all looking forward to sending the kids back to school and dealing with everything that comes with that. And winter??? YIKES!!!
You don't mind temps over 100 degrees? Ugh.
Me too!!!! My boys started school today, and I am sitting here feeling a little depressed. I just love summer, and the heat doesn't bother me either, Jackie.
No, I sure don't!! I love to sit out by the pool with the girls! We have air, and we did have it one when the humidity had us over 100, but most of the time it's off.
You would hate my house. We have the AC on, even in the 70's, if the humidity is high! LOL!
No way...I'm an autumn gal...cool temps and football games! Although, I am sad that Connor will be starting up school again! I'm gonna miss my little booger bear!!
I love the fall temps and the coolness of winter in texas. But I will admit I am sad to see summer pass, because I love hanging out with the kids, playing cards, reading books, watching dumb tv shows (my dd is hooked on top chef and bb..lol). School brings schedules, homework, meetings, grumpy kids. It has been so nice to have my children not fight and not have to be so tied to work!
I'm with Kaye on the cooler fall temps. This year I'm looking forward to school starting up because it will be so much easier with my work schedule. I've switched over to nights so I get to volunteer up at Brendan's school this year more than last year and get to pick him up from school. He's also still young enough where he's excited about going back! First grade here he comes!
I'm definitely a cool weather person. I'm glad that summer is almost over. I love watching the leaves fall and leaving my window open at night and feeling the cool wind, and snuggling up in a warm blanket. It's so much more comfortable to take my dd to the park to play when it's nice and cool outside. And I love watching dd play sports at school. I also love the winter and watching the snow fall. I seem to come alive when the weather is cooler.
Me too, Sandy. Fall is my best time of year. I can't wait! This morning I woke up, took a shower, felt great until I spent a couple hours outside with dd. Now I feel I need another shower, and I'm dragging myself around feeling sleepy. I'm so ready for those crisp, cool, days! We grew our own pumpkins this year, so Lara and I are looking forward to harvesting them and putting them on the porch with a homemade scarecrow.:-)
Add me to the Summer Mommas, I hate the end of warm weather!! My kids' bday is in June, so the beginning of the summer season, and mine is September, so I'm usually depressed by then! I do like fall more than spring, if only because the crisp weather is beautiful! Still, winter depresses me, and if I could live in the tropics, I would!!!
I enjoy the autumn and the cooler temperatures but I'll miss our lazy summer days, swimming all day long, and having the kids around all day instead of stuck in school. It doesn't cool off around here until mid-October so I think I'll be ready for temps in the 70's by then but I'm going to miss summer vacation.
I am an autumn girl.. I like not having a strict schedule during the summer and having more time to enjoy each other.. BUT I hate hot weather.. I tell the kids, I can put on more clothes but I can only walk around so naked before I scare someone. LOL If I could find some place that was fall all year long, that is where I would go..
I like the carefree summer schedule, but don't like the heat much, either! At the end of the summer, I look forward to sweaters and long pants, just because it's different! I love bright blue skies, cooler temps, leaves starting to change, and all the colors of fall. This week has been so gray and gloomy, I barely remember what a blue sky looks like! Also, my wedding anniversary is in October, so when I see geese starting to migrate, it's a sign that my anniversary is coming and that brings back lots of nice memories. It will be 20 years this year!
