Treadmills
I'm looking into buying a treadmill and would like to know if any of you have one. do you like it? Use it? Is it easily stored away & sturdy? How long have you had it? etc.... I want to get a good one but I don't have too much to spend on it. Any input would be appreciated.
I love my proform. It has great (challenging) programs. It folds but is still huge.
mine looks like this http://www.proform.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product2_13402_10351_29289_-1_21663
I would not recommend the Proforms. I had one for 9 yrs. and it worked great. It finally stopped working last year, so I bought another one. It was up in our gameroom. I thought I would really like it because it folded up, and out of the way. Well, soon after we got it, I started noticing this horrible smell in the room, it smelled like old, sweaty, gym socks. After doing a little research, we found out that they are having problems with several models, the belts stink. Sure enough, I smelled the belt, and that is where the smell is coming from. So, it is now out in the garage, and I have to use it out there. We called Proform, and all they will do is replace the belt. But, it doesn't take care of the problem. I wasn't very happy with their customer service. So, I would really not recommend them. Hopefully, someone else can suggest a better one. I will say that I used it all the time when I had it in the house. I still use it some now that it is in the garage. It has just been so hot lately, I have been doing workout tapes inside. But, I hope to start using it more in the fall.
I have had no problems with mine.
We had a Proform and loved it. However, when we did the remodel, we got rid of it since we joined a gym. We had no problems with ours.
I've had 2 Lifestylers and loved them both, and they were both used when I bought them. Going used is a great way to get a better treadmill. I'm on my second used Lifestyler and I really love this one. It folds up as well. I've never gotten one with programs on it, simply because a used one with programs never came around in my price range and I refuse to pay the $ out for a new one with programs. I can do my own programs! LOL I use Shape magazine for various programs and it's simple to do it yourself. I recommend auto incline and fold-up if at all possible in whatever you buy.
Thanks for the input ladies. I really feel like I need to walk more often, and where we live, there isn't a safe enough shoulder to the road. I will definitely look up Lifestylers and Proforms and hopefully, I'll find a good used one. Thanks again.
We have a treadmill from walmart, lol. It's a weslo cadence. We enjoy it and it seems to work great. It has various inclines and it folds up. I would love to get one of the fancy treadmills that I see for $1500++. All of the features and buttons look great. But, we can't afford it. The one we have works just fine, so we'll stick with it!
