Embarrassing/Personal Question
Background, I have been having strange periods for about 8 months now (sometimes really light and sometimes really heavy and not exactly when I expect them) and I am on the pill, I am over weight and I have had a few kidney/bladder infections in the past 6+ months. I have a really bad problem with getting too hot and not being able to cool off for hours and sometimes days. Today I was cleaning and got EXTREMELY hot and out of breath, so I sat down for a few min. I all of a sudden felt the urge to tinkle and before I could even stand up I could not hold it anymore and I actually wet myself. I didn't have to go before that instant. This is a first for me. Is this something that I should worry about or is it just one of those things that happens? I am too embarrassed to ask any of my friends or family right now, so I am turning to this wise group for help. I have a GYN appt in 3 weeks that I will be discussing the strange periods at. Could this be a symptom of something I should take care of before that appt?
Discss it. You may have several unrelated problems going on at the same time. Your symptoms (other than the urinary) sound like a classic hormonal imbalance - not enough estrogen? Out of breath could be hormonal, respiratory, circulatory/cardiac or even gerd. Talk to the doc at your appointment - unless you start to experience accute symptoms like pain or dizziness. Feel Better. Ame
I would try to get in sooner. Sudden loss of bladder control like that coupled with "a few" bladder/kidney infections seems worth checking out. Bladder infections are the pits, but kidney infections are nothing to mess with. It could very well be an infection that is causing you to feel over-heated and out of breath. I actually had to call an ambulance in February because of a kidney infection. What I chalked up to back pain became so severe I couldn't breathe, and it took serious painkillers and IV anti-biotics to feel better (there was debate on whether to hospitalize me or not), not to mention over 6 weeks of exhaustion on a level I never knew possible. Really, an experience I never want to have again! Either way, it'll put your mind at ease to know what's going on. ((((hugs)))) I hope you are feeling better soon!
