Online Photo Album Questions
I am thinking about setting up an online photo album.. Anyone that has one, any suggestions? Who do you use? Is it password protected? I would prefer it to be password protected, as I don't want people I don't know stealing my pictures or looking at them for that matter... As most know, my mom took off and moved to Florida last October, on top of that my grandparent's live over an hour away.. I would like to start an album for them to be able to go to and see the latest pictures of the kids.. I am a photo bug and I am constantly breaking out my camera for a shot.. I think it would be fun for them to be able to watch the kids grow up and be able to see the things the kids are getting themselves into through pictures.. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated...
I really like Picasa from Google
Picasa You can password protect your albums for viewing by whomever you choose.
I also have a Picasa account.
I've been using picasa for a few years, and love it!
Try Photobucket I used it to password protect pictures, I like Flickr, but it doesn't have the storage space I need.
Right now I use Snapfish and Picasa...
Does anyone know how much storage space Picasa has? Is it free or do you have to pay a service fee? I am just curious. I am about to start scanning in all my mom's photo albums and she lives 5 hrs away and I thought it would be cool for her to see the progress. I also was wanting a photo album that was password protected because I don't like having many pics of my family out there for everyone to look at.
From what I am able to find.. Picasa gives you storage for about 4,000 photo's, 1024 MB of free space.. My only issues right now, You can't just send the URL and have them save it to favorites and go in and enter a preset password, say like for grandma, so that they can see all the albums at once. The way it seems, I have to send her a link in an email to each and every album to keep them from public viewing, is that the case? Or she has to register as a user and add me as a friend? I am not sure she is going to understand how to go about all of that.. Looking for something simple, probably isn't going to happen, huh? Picasa, seems to have the highest free storage, by the way..
Wait, Photo Bucket gives you a friends only password option... reading more..
Says it has 1GB storage limit for a free account. But what does.. monthly bandwidth usage is over 25GB, direct linking will be disabled until the usage resets on the day of the month that the account was registered??
Photo Bucket also will up load from your picture file on your PC and you don't have to down load a separate program to use it.. More storage, password protection for the whole account instead of just
