Scary moment for me
My 3 yr old dd just had a bad fall off the monkey bars. She can't do it unless I hold her and she started on them before I was right there. She lost her grip and landed flat on her back. She seems fine now, but it looked bad. She has reflexive anoxic seizures, so she stops breathing for a few seconds if there is some shock to her system. She also couldn't stand up striaght for a minute or two. The doctor is of course at lunch, I'm wondering if they'll want to look at her. I hate waiting for them to call back. I'm still shaking. She's playing like normal, so that's good. At least the playground is over those rubber tire shreds.
Rayelle, that is scary. She may have just knocked the wind out of herself. Glad she is acting normal. Keep us posted
how scary! I hope she is ok now.
Thanks. The doctor called me right back and they still wanted to check her out just to be sure. Everything is fine! She just has 2 small bruises but the doctor said she didn't act like they were tender. It was a scary looking fall. Those type of things just haunt me even when there are no problems.
My dd did the same sort of thing when she was about 3 or 4. Fell flat on her back when she was jumping up to reach a bar or something on the playground. It scared her and me, but thank goodness she was o.k. She didn't want to go to the playground for a while though. I'm glad to hear she is o.k.
I did that when I was a kid too... I still can remember it.. I remember loosing my grip and the slip and the fall felt like slow motion and the hit rocked my world. I fell on black top, so there was no bounce.. It took a few minutes to get myself together and to catch my breath.. It was very scary and I was afraid of the monkey bars for a good while after that.. I am glad everything is okay..
So glad that she's okay. Whew!!!!!!
That is scary. I'm glad she is ok.
She probably either got the wind knocked out of her or she was just really surprised that she could fall, or both. It probably scared her just as much as it did you, and she probably needed a few minutes to comprehend what happened. Glad she's okay!
Good to hear she is OK!
