Disney World Experiences
My family and I are going to Disney World over fall break (nov15-25). It will be my DD, DS and I first time there. We are going with my MIL and SIL who have been numerous times. I was just wondering if those of you who have been could let me know what you thought of it all, your favorites anything we should skip or definitly do, dining, character shows... If you have stayed at the Grand Floridian what did you think of it, if you have gone in November how was the weather? Did you do the meal plan, if so do you think it was worth it? Anything is helpful. We are so exited and have lots of things already planned out and reserved. Has anyones daughter done the Bibbidi bobbidi boutique and is it worth the money? Like I said anything is helpful!!
The Grand Floridian is wonderful and you will love it I'm sure. The meal plan is WONDERFUL and I highly recommend buying it. If your inlaws have been numerous times, it sounds like you'll be in good hands and have a great time. My favorite character meal would be the 1900 Park Fare dinner at the Grand Floridian. Chef Mickey's is lots of fun at the Contemporary. I do NOT like the Castle dinners/breakfasts...I really don't recommend them unless your DDs are dying to eat in the castle. Not done Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique but lots of people love it. I'm way too cheap to do it and it takes a lot of time and the hairstyle doesn't last and the kids look kinda ridiculous to me, but again, if you have girly girl DDs who want it, go for it! They'd probably love it! You need reservations well ahead of time though. There's some pirate thing your son could do at one of the MK deluxes...it might be the GF....check that out.
We've always gone in November or early December. The weather is BEAUTIFUL! Not too hot...80's mostly and cooler in the evenings. (Like you could wear pants) Never stayed at the Floridian and we've never gone with kids, so I can't be of any more help! Have a great time!
Yes my DD is a girly girl and very exited to see the castle. She is 5 and my son is 10. We have made reservations for the cinderella dinner at 1900 park fare at the GF, cinderellas royal table for breakfast, chef mickeys breakfast, my dd is doing bibbidi bobbidi boutique and the wonderland tea party at GF, DS is doing the Port Orleans Pirate adventure. We purchased the meal plan and made reservations for all our dinners, I was amazed that alot of places were already booked. But we do not mind eating late so we still got into some good places that my inlaws liked.
Thanksgiving week(which is part of your week) is one of the busier weeks at Disney. I would suggest going to the parks as much as possible the first part of your trip. As you near Thanksgiving, the crowds will build. I have heard, from friends who went during this time, that from Thanksgiving through the weekend it is VERY crowded. It sounds like you have lots of fun things planned. I haven't stayed at the GF, we always stay at the Polynesian. But, you will love the convenience of the monerail. Hope you have a great time. We are going at the end of October for 5 days, and my boys are very excited.
Ditto on Thanksgiving!! Definitely one of the busiest times of the year. We often have gone the weekend after T'Giving. The weekend is a bear with crowds but by Sun. late morning it's DEAD because everyone has gone home.
Last time DH and I went was over Thanksgiving week, and we will NEVER do that again! The crowds were horrible, Magic Kingdom was the worst of all the parks. There were so many people and so many strollers *parked* outside of rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, there was literally no way to walk through the areas, it was like being in a mob.
Thanks everyone for the input. I kind of figured it would be a busy week since evryone is out of school that week. It sounds like we should hit the magic kingdom the first couple of days and save the smaller parks for the last. We are trying to schedule our parks with where we are having dinner at on that night.
