AAaaaahhhhh, I'm actually relaxing!
Since Connor stopped napping, I have been going out of my mind. So, today, he is at preschool (he just started going MWF from 8:30-11:30) and I'm sitting at my computer, drinking an iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks, and reading the news online! I really have lots to do, but sometimes it's just nice to sit and be an *adult* for a few hours out of the day. I've been stressed/depressed lately with us having to live in an apartment with crazy neighbors, Scott working from 7am-7pm, Connor being a terror from 3pm and on, and our house not selling in MD. So, I've decided that I need to plan our days better and get creative. I'm heading down to Littleton today to spend the afternoon with an old friend and her girls. Tomorrow, I am going to my cousins and we are going to swim in her pool. And Friday, while Connor is at school, I'm going to get together with an old friend who is not working right now so we can catch up and help her with some wedding plans. She is finally getting married to a good guy and I know she is excited! (I've known her since the 8th grade.) It will just be nice to have an adult conversation!! :-) Do you feel like you need some down time to "plan" your time and activities with your kids? This is a change, but I'm looking forward to doing different things with Connor and keeping myself busy. I might even head down with him to the nature center in Denver. Cat- We also have to get together in the next couple of weeks! I know you have a much busier schedule than me, but I'd love to meet you guys! I'll email you soon!
Heidi, we leave next Wednesday and get back the following Wednesday. I really don't have any free days before then, but may have the Thursday when we get back. I know we've got appointments that Friday (chiropractor--have to put everything back in place after our karate seminar!). I'll let you know. Free time is hard to come by! lol I'm glad you had a relaxing morning. There will always be things to do. Even if you take a few hours to yourself, they'll still be there waiting for you. How's Connor liking preschool? My neighbor's 3yo starts next month. He did a one week summer camp with the preschool a couple weeks ago. His mom said he really enjoyed it and she enjoyed the free time--and she didn't even cry! lol He's her only (and will be--he was a surprise!). I hope he's enjoying it.
Hi Heidi: I'm glad you are settling in. Yes! Always take time for yourself! You will go back to the things that are always there with more energy and happiness. I know I have just made it a point to be happy. I have to do all the same old daily stuff - but if I do it with happiness - wow, is it much easier. I am in a similar situation with a hubby who works very long hours and is mainly gone on the weekend. My kids are not in camp or school this summer, so I have just made it a point to relax. Do what I can and whateve doesn't get done was not important. Enjoy the things you have planned! Ame
