Anyone else watching the Wimbledon women's finale?
I love watching and playing tennis. I especially love watching Wimbledon since Bjorn Borg was playing way back in the day! lol
I am a huge tennis fan too Annie (both playing and watching!!) I am very disappointed that Justine Henin wasn't in the final. Bartoli played well against Justine but I thought her nerves got the best of her in the final! The end of the woman's final match was very anti-climatic. The fans didn't seem too excited by Venus' win. I liked how Bartoli did the wave and laughed at the things the fans were saying! That was cute! Boy, did you hear the announcers talking about all of the STRANGE things that Bartoli's dad makes her do for training? That is really out-there!! Seeing him crying on Dad Richard Williams' shoulder and Marion thanking him was touching though!!
Yes, it was very anti-climatic. Henin is one of my favorite players as are Maria Sharapova and, I know I will spell this wrong, Marissimo. Bartoli would have been a great upset but yeah to the USA V Williams. I can't wait to watch the men's finale tomorrow. As I am not a fan of Nadal, I will be cheering for Roger to tie Borg's Wimbledon record. (I think Nadal needs to buy different underwear. Do you notice how many wedgies he picks? LOL)
All that boy does is fix his undies!!! To the point that it is distracting!! I am hoping for Federer to win too!! He's such a class act. I would love James Blake to surprise me someday soon and get to a final!! I like watching him play!! Mauresmo (I have no idea if I spelled it right either!!!) is one of my favorites. I was so surprised that she was out so soon this year!! I also like to watch Nicole Vaidasova. She is so emotional but fun to watch. I miss Linsday Davenport!! I always wanted her to win every match!! I could go on and on about my favorite women players. I saw Agassi play at the Atlanta Olympics. That was so cool!! I was very happy that the prize money was equal this year for the first time ever at any tournament. Hopefully this trend continues!!
That should say anti-climactic. Unless we are talking about the climate and even though Wimbledon was almost rained out this year I don't think we were referring to the climate, oh well!!
I watched...huge tennis fan here. I am happy that venus won. No suprise that federer won though. Yesterday it was shocking to watch andy lose, he just had a lot of bad luck, he played well, but gascau... just played better and had some remarkable shots. Can't wait till tomorrow!
