My best girlfriend's water broke yesterday. She was only 16 weeks. They did a surgery, which sounded like a c-section but they didn't call it that. She was really looking forward to finding out the gender soon and finally felt that she was past the first trimester danger zone. I feel so bad for her and I was looking forward to things right along with her. Since we talk about the baby everyday I also feel a loss but feel selfish for feeling that way. Just horribly sad.

That is horrible. I also think your feelings of loss are normal and just show how close you are to your friend.

I'm so sorry. I felt a loss, when my neighbor lost her baby, too. I was 16 weeks pregnant. She was 10. We had looked so forward to being pregnant together. She went on to have another one, about 10 months after Emily was born.
