Whew!
For the past 2 weeks DH and I have been busting our butts to get our house ready to sale. We have painted inside and out, made lots of minor repairs, cleaned and then cleaned some more, had carpets stretched and steam cleaned, etc. ad nauseum. Big sigh of relief because it went on the market today and our realtor thought we could get about $10,000 than we were thinking. We still have a few things to put in storage and touch up, but it's mostly done. And I got my new debit card in the mail today so I have access to money again. Yippee!! P.S., I forgot to mention that with my car in the shop due to my broken window DH got me a 2007 red Mustang convertible for my rental. Hopefully though I'll have my van back by Wednesday.
Sounds like things are coming together... Fingers crossed and a lot of prayers for a quick sale... And good for DH on the mustang. ^5
Pam, Did you have your carpets cleaned professionally or did you rent a machine and do it yourself? I'm curious as I have to have mine cleaned and I'm wondering if it's worth having it done by a professional versus renting one and doing it yourself. Good luck with the sale of your home.
I also wanted to ask if it costs a lot to have your carpets stretched. I am thinking that might help ours a little until we can get them replaced.
Pam, maybe I missed it, but did you paint the outside door, shutters etc...., and what colors did you do & can you post a pic? I hope you can sell fast and get top dollar.
DH always rents a rug doctor and does it himself. I think if we were going to be selling the house, though, that I'd want the pros to come in and do it! I recently misplaced my debit card, but after looking for it, declared it lost and got a new one. I figured after I ordered a new one, that it would turn up. It hasn't. I'm glad I cancelled it and got a new one! It is a pain not having one, though!
