I'm ready for a break
Wow, it's been hectic the past week! I know some of you read about our friend on the prayer request board. He's doing really well and we all know how lucky he was. We're very thankful for that. Well, that made Thursday and Friday really stressful. We were up late Thursday night (I'm not used to getting FOUR kids ready for bed!) and had to get up early Friday morning to get my son to school and their two off to camp. Then Saturday the ABS went out in my car. Something in it shorted and the rotten thing won't stop running, even when the car's off! So we took it to Brake's Plus, but they had to order the part and won't get it in until tomorrow. So we just disconnected it (they showed us how, it's perfectly safe, I just won't have ABS--only regular old brakes). So anyway, we discover yesterday (I didn't drive it the rest of the day Sat) that when you disconnect the ABS that takes out your speedometer/odometer/tripodmeter. Okay, I can deal with that. Then this morning the check engine light comes on. Seems that when the speedometer isn't working that trips the check engine light! ARGH!!! I about had a cow until the Brake's Plus guy explained that to me! lol Oh, and Saturday I had a no-show interview for child care (I'm trying to fill two spots). I called her after she was 1/2 hour late and she said she forgot. I asked if she wanted to reschedule and she said, "Well, I was really thinking about it and I really can't afford it only working part time. If you're willing to negotiate your rates I might be able to work something out." I told her thanx, I hope you find something. Her part time was still 7 hours a day and my rates aren't unreasonable. I have other people interested in the spot anyway. Oh, and do you remember I had to take Robin to the doc for his finger that he jammed like three months ago? The ped referred us to orthopedics and THREE SURGEONS looked at his x-ray and NONE of them knew what was wrong with it. They said it looked like the bone dissolved. WHAT??? So we saw the ped again this morning and we're doing another x-ray on the 5th to see if it's changed. He said the next step would be a bone scan to see if we're dealing with something more serious. Then he said he doesn't think it is anything more serious (read--cancer), but he wanted to follow up just to be sure. ARGH!!!!! Where's my Calgon?!? Thanx for listening to me vent. I'm getting somewhat of a break the rest of this week. I'm in a class from 9-5 tomorrow through Friday. It'll be intense, but it'll be a break from the everyday I'm used to. I'm looking forward to it.
Hoping for a break for you... Hopefully things will slow down..
You DO need a break! Hope things calm down for you soon!
{{{HUGS}}} Hope you catch a break soon!
Thanx. I actually had some down time last night and again tonight. Tuesday and Wednesday were stressful, just getting everything done in the day. I'm not used to being out of the house all day! I have a lot more appreciation for working moms! lol Yesterday and today were a lot better though, and I'm actually feeling a bit refreshed! It was the last day of my class today and it was a lot of fun! I got my CPS Tech certification and got to do a safety seat check for a pregnant mom. It's her first baby and she knew nothing about car seats. Another new tech and I talked her through the whole process of installing her seat. I felt bad making a pregnant woman (due in like two weeks!!!) do it, but she actually thanked us for teaching her how so she'd be able to do it again when she needed to. She was great! I had fun playing with a couple of kids of another mom that came in while two other new techs went over her seats with her. It was nice getting out and having adult interaction, but I missed my kiddos (mine and daycare) and I missed being home. It was just the break I needed. Although I can see working outside the home again someday. Maybe when my kids are grown and gone.
Welcome to the CPS field!
Congratulations!!!!
Congratulations!
