Twilight obsessions???
Moms View Message Board: Books, Movies and TV Shows: Twilight obsessions???
Does anyone else here have a twilight obsessed child? Alexis (14) has ready all 4 books by Stephenie Meyer (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn) at least 8 times. She is absolutely obsessed with it. She has t-shirts and posters and a hoodie and EVERYTHING else she could talk me into buying. (A lot she doesn't know about because she hasn't opened her birthday presents yet) I have read all 4 books also and they were pretty good. Definitely kept my interest, to the point i read all 4 in less than a week and i am normally not a fast reader. It normally takes me a few weeks to finish a book. It will be out in theaters as a movie on 11-21 and she is so ma at me because she doesn't think that I got tickets for the midnight showing and they are sold out now. I guess that tonight when she opens her presents she will be surprised to find those tickets in one of her presents!
YES!!!!! My 13 year old, who has talked about nothing other than Nick Jonas for the past several months, has suddenly become obsessed with Twilight. She read the first 2 books within days. She's getting the next 2 for Christmas, and the wait is nearly killing her. LOL She doesn't have any of the stuff, though.
My kids haven't gotten into these books at all! LOL! Tarable, your daughter will be thrilled to get her presents! Is her birthday today? Is she 14 then, or will be turning 15? Happy Birthday to her! Of course, at college, Sarah doesn't have as much access to a public library, or the funds to buy books right now. I'll have to ask her later. I don't know what Emily knows about them either. I'd heard about them, though.
She is 14 as of 2:00 a.m. this morning. I am so excited to see her face when she opens the present with the movie tickets in it.. she really thinks i didn't get them in time.
I bet the anticipation is about killing you. Keep us posted, or try to get a picture of when she opens that box. Oh darn. Sarah called a little while ago and I didn't think to ask her if she was interested in the books.
my 13 year old dd is also. She took down all her Jonas Brothers posters and put up one of Edward. I have read all 4 books and they are really good. I would recommend them for adults to read.
My 13 year old loves Edward, but is still calling herself Mrs. Nick Jonas. Her posters have not moved!
Alexis about 1/2 the room s Jonas and the other 1/2 is Twilight. This is her opening her tickets tonight...
Her face is priceless! Emily said she looked on the card catalog website for the library and there were 72 requests for one of the Twilight books, so she lost interest.
I had led her to believe that I didn't get tickets and they are sold out now. She was totally surprised plus this will be her first midnight showing of a movie. Should be interesting.
I very rarely check this board for some reason... dd is on a kick with these books too. She read the first one because it was on the list of books to pick from for a book report she had to do. A friend told her it was good, so she picked it. LOL Well, the book report is due today, but she is now on the third book. LOL She read the first one and did her report, read the second one and is now on the third one. I am thrilled because she normally isn't much of a reader. I already got the last one and was going to give it to her for her birthday on 12/13, but I think she is going to be done with this one way before then and the wait would kill her. It might have to be a early b-day gift! She doesn't have any of the posters etc and has mentioned wanting to see the movie... but loves the books!
my dd has tickets to the midnite show also. Kind of funny, we live in a town where a Cullen family donated a lot of stuff. My niece came this summer and we had to take signs of all the road signs, museum signs, etc that said "cullen hall" etc. It was so cute.
On Tuesday Alexis went to the mall where the guy who plays Edward in the movie was signing autographs and stuff. They had wrist bands for like 500 people and they were $30 each and sold out by 6am. My dd didn't get a wristband but they did have him at least for everyone to see after the other event was over. I was just happy that her best friends mom took them. I get to take them to a twilight event tonight at a book store. At least I can just roam around the store or sit and read. That is funny about all the signs with Cullen in them. My dd would want pictures too.
I like the picture! I read Twilight in about 4 days. 1/2 way through New Moon. It's easy reading on the treadmill. Can't wait for the movie.
I'm not obsessed but I really enjoyed the books! My daughter is only 9 and they're too "grown up" for her. I'm going to have to see if the boys are interested. I bought all 4. I just watched the trailer for the movie! Can't wait to see it now...I didn't know one was coming out.
Well, how did you like the movie? We got to see Bolt in a premier showing and when we came out there was another line. I asked 1 teen girl what she was in line for and she said it was a preview showing for Twilight. How did it compare to the book? Did they do a good job?
I started another thread on this below. In my opinion it was just okay. My dd age 14 agreed, she did like it though. I thought it was very b movie.
