The kids and I watched it tonight, and loved it. It's sort of a fairy tale sort of story about a boy trying to find his biological parents. He'd been given up for adoption, and grown up in a boys' home. The plot was a bit predictable at times, but we were still rooting for the main climax, at the end. It's a very musical movie, too. The main character keeps hearing music and he hopes his parents hear the music that he's playing for them. It didn't get a very good rating at Rotten Tomatoes.com, but sometimes it doesn't matter if the critics didn't like it, if it speaks to you.
I saw that one Dawn - honestly, I was disappointed in it - it was hyped to be soo good and it wasn't really what I was expecting. I didn't hate it or anything, it was OK, but I didn't think it was great. LOL
I loved it. I love Robin Williams (although this was quite the role for him!) and I love music. Parts gave me goosebumps. Jmho
We really enjoyed it. At the end, we are shouting to the dad, turn your head-turn your head, and then he does. Then they show the girl and we are like turn your head, but she's looking at the boy. Eventually, she sees the dad, but she has to acknowledge the boy first! Emily was going on and on, about how much she liked it!
That's funny how we have differing opinions. DH and I didn't like it, especially the ending . It was just too cheesy and overly sentimental. I'm a sap and easy crier, but this movie was just a bit much for me.
Admittedly, the plot was a bit too predictable. Sometimes I would yell out a line and that would be the next line! LOL!
Pam, I also didn't like the ending. LOL And yes, it was very predictable, but a lot of movies are. I just didn't think it was as good as it was hyped to be.
