I saw this today with my older dd. I thought it was a good movie, although it I think it has an unrealistic view on the hardships of teenage pregnancy.
I agree Colette, I took my 14 yo daughter, she wanted to see it with her friends, and I said NO I wanted to see it together, I thought it would be more of a "lesson", but it did give me the opportunity to give a lesson afterward. I did not like the romantic conotation with her and the older man AT ALL, could have been left out IMO! I also squirmed a bit at the beginning And the blueberry pie condoms, but I think over all I handled it like a grown up! LOL
I went and saw this yesterday. I have made the choice to not let my 14 year old see this. Mostly because I think it is a bit too much in language and sex. That and I think there are a lot of subtlties in the harshness that she would miss. I do not want to idealize pregnancy to her. However with all that, I really loved this movie. It was witty and so different. It was a nice viewing experience, I laughed out loud at parts. I went with 2 other women, all different as far as conservative and I think we all enjoyed it.
