Moms View Message Board: Books, Movies and TV Shows: Harry Potter 5
We went last night to see the movie and it was awesome!!!! I know some of you do not like these movies but my family loves them. So we saw 5 last night and tonight I will start re-reading book 6 so that next saturday I will be in line at 12am to get the final book 7 and start reading that right away.
Moving to books, movies, etc. section
Bump
That's cool! Sarah is going with friends tomorrow, and DH said maybe we'll go see it on vacation next week!
I just saw on my Yahoo homepage that this came out. I'm so disappointed in myself for not knowing the exact date it came out LOL! Good to hear it was great, I look forward to seeing it. I also look forward to reading the Deathly Hallows. I'm dying to know if Dumbledore is really dead. But i'm sad that this is the last book!
I re-read all 6 books in preparation for this. I will not wait in line for it but will happily pick it up after it comes out.
My boys have pre-ordered their books from Amazon, so they should get them in the mail next Saturday. We plan on seeing the movie Sunday when Mike gets back from Boy Scout camp.
We won't be standing in line for the book. We will still be on vacation, on the 21st. The kids won't get the book, until after we get back! We did pre-order it, though.
I also pre-ordered the book for my daughter and we plan to go to the Harry Potter costume party at the Barnes & nobel Store on the 20th at 7:00. She is sooooooooo excited...she has her robe, wand, owl etc. and has even been working on her accent! HA! HA!
Sounds like fun!
Saw the movie today. It was ok, I thought some of the others were better. I am - and I can't believe that I am - going to be in line at 12am because my 16yr old wants to and asked me if I would please go with her. Since at this age, requests to go someplace together are few and far between, I figured I'd bite the bullet and go.
We took our DS, DIL and grand daughter to the Premiere Party for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at the Virginia Air and Space Museum. They had a party with interesting exhibits that tied into magic and the movie, with pizza. popcorn and drinks served. We all had a glorious time. This movie is darker than it’s predecessors, but the special effects, especially the showdown with Lord Voldemort, in 3-D, are absolutely jaw-dropping. Although no Quidditch match action enhances this chapter, the broomstick rush through the skies of London more than suffices. Daniel Radcliffe's Harry, Emma Watson's Hermione, Rupert Grint's Ron have matured naturally, and together with several stalwart schoolmates, defy much more terrifying enemies this time. Imelda Staunton, overacts gleefully as the latest Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Dolores Umbridge. She's a petite pink toad, a diminutive smiling brute, who hates young people, and despises any freedom of mind and expression. She simply loathes poor Harry. Director David Yates presents dream sequences which allow us to enter the nightmare inner-world of Harry’s fears. All five of our family agreed that this was the best film yet of the series. If you plan to see Harry Potter and the Order Of The Phoenix, see the IMAX version. The 3-D battle near the end is worth the extra effort and cost. It is dazzling.
Oldest dd started reading it as soon as we got it, read straight through the night til she finished it. It's to bad this is the last book, I think they are great stories.
My kids knew there would be some people who got the book and then spent the whole night reading it! LOL! We are seeing the movie, later today!
