Yet ANOTHER politician has a scandal attached to him. Do they ALL cheat? It is getting so sickening.
I have to say that I am not surprised about him. I was glad when he dropped out of the Presidential race because he always seemed slimey to me, behind the "pretty boy" smile. And with a terminally ill wife...it is even more reprehensible.
Of course, that is all that is on the cable news networks. There is a possible all out war beginning in Russia, and the news agencies are mining the Edwards affair for ratings.
Well, this has been in the news for a couple of weeks now.................that said, he is a sleeze..........but he's no different from SO many men (and women).
The thing that *really* ticks me off is that there have been shows and articles about them since his wife has been fighting her cancer, and he has been portrayed as being the supportive spouse/family man......when clearly he is NOT everything he wanted us to think he was. When she and their family need him most...........NO excuse for that..............I am so sick of people who have no morals or ethics and are only concerned with their instant gratification.....
I hear you. All of you know my story. I don't understand the mentality of some men. They commit, take an oath, make babies; who turn into young adults, then walk away whenever they feel like it. They are selfish and only think with their little head.
I never trusted John Edwards, either, but I had the feeling he was gay!

This doesn't suprise me at all. I think it is just really low, especially since his wife was fighting terminal cancer! I just wish when these scum bags get caught they would just be a man and fess up. I hate that they continue to lie. It just makes it worse.
Elizabeth Edwards has had to deal with a lot, poor woman. She lost her oldest son, Wade in a car wreck in 1996, when he was 16. She took all kinds of hormones to get pregnant two more times after that, past her ideal child-bearing age. They THINK that there may be a link to that and the cancer she is dealing with now. (They also have a grown daughter, Cate).
She has a form of cancer that is almost certainly terminal. When it was caught the first time, she was supposedly "cured" or in remission. Then, it surfaced again in a more ravaging way. It is now in her bones. (Who knows...maybe the stress of the affair triggered the return of the cancer?). Now, she is faced with leaving behind two young children.
And, she is now dealing with the ultimate betrayal. I wondered why he dropped out of the Presidential race so abruptly and didn't endorse anyone for a long time. He dropped out at the end of January and the girlfriend's baby was born in February.
When he would be on the debates talking about his "humble" beginnings (his Dad sweeping floors in a textile mill), and yet he made his fortune plowing over the working person in court, representing large corprations, he just had "phony" written all over him.
I never thought he was gay, though he is too "pretty". However, he takes good care of himself with his $500.00 haircuts. I would look at him on TV and think, "I'd do that haircut for $200.00!". LOL!
I think a lot more will come out about this: the paternity of GF's baby, and the "character" of GF. I guess she was a a party girl in NY who was into the drug scene. Then, suddenly, she moved to California and became a videographer with no experience, and changed her name. What a mess! Family man "indeed"!
I don't feel that bad for her. She's known about it at least since 2006 and they entered the campaign anyways. If they had bowed out earlier, we may have a different nominee in the democratic party.
Annie, on one of my email lists, a man and wife have been married for 24 years, and have 5-year-old triplet girls. He is flaking out and they are probably going to get divorced. I don't get it, either. You just want to shake some sense into him!
I heard someone talking about this at work yesterday and thought he was slimy.
IMO, it doesn't matter how long she has known about it, it's still sleezy.......and WRONG. I would feel badly for ANYONE in that position, no matter when they discovered the betrayal.
As for the nominee issues, *that* is certainly something to consider, but I certainly don't fault her for that, which I realize you aren't saying; I, like Annie, was faced with knowledge of a philandering husband and it leaves its scars....I imagine Elizabeth Edwards is not about to break up her family with all all her health issues - that alone is enough for her kids to have to deal with.
