Moms View Message Board: The Kitchen Table (Debating Board): Michael Jackson
By Ginny~moderator on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 - 08:02 pm:

Did he? Didn't he? What do you think?

By Palmbchprincess on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 - 09:29 pm:

I think he did, and he has serious issues. Then again, I only know him as the creepy guy he is now, I don't remember him as a pop icon, and I've never had a good opinion of him.

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 - 10:25 pm:

I don't know whether he did or not, but I basically grew up with the guy and can sing all of his songs. I just wish he wasn't so weird!

By Bea on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 - 11:43 pm:

I think he did. His ideas of loving children are perverted.

By Tink on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 12:15 am:

I remember thinking he was amazing and really being a fan when I was younger. I do think he did these horrible things. I remember being really freaked out when I saw an in-depth interview a few years ago. He just had the creepiest ideas of what was appropriate when dealing with children. Just because he has had an amazing career as a musical icon shouldn't mean that this is swept under the rug any longer.

By Amy~moderator on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 05:36 am:

What are you all talking about? I haven't watched the news lately...

By Feona on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 08:02 am:

Michael is on trial for molesting? or something a underage boy. Giving him wine... watching p orn with him.

Last time he settled with the family for a guess of 25 million dollars.

By Laurazee on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 09:04 am:

More likely than not if you go with the "Where there's smoke, there's fire" rule. There just seems to be too many odd things and accusations. I doubt that it's a conspiracy or a misunderstanding or whatever his defense is.

By My2cuties on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 10:03 am:

I think he did it but I know plenty of people that say this is just the government's way of taking his property from him..(for whatever reason that may be?!) He is really just too creepy and I think the whole showing his baby off by dangling him from the balcony did it for me I am no longer a fan in any way.

And if he didn't do anything why would he settle with the one family, it obviously did not save his reputation. It just made him look worse.

By Jann on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 10:04 am:

Why would the government want to seize his property?

By My2cuties on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 10:59 am:

good question Jann, maybe I will ask those people and post what they say...

By Imamommyx4 on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 11:40 am:

I don't know for sure whether he did anything or not. I wasn't there. But it would not surprise one little bit if he did. He has just gotten so weird over the years. He was such a cute talented kid and I guess he's still talented. But I wouldn't want my kids hanging out with him.

By Kay on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 11:48 am:

I read this morning that he was hospitalized yesterday with flu-like symptoms.

By Palmbchprincess on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 12:02 pm:

As far as the government taking his property, even if he's convicted, they won't get it, the victims will get compensation if awarded. Did anyone see the movie about him? Man in the Mirror was the name I think, it was just sad for me to watch, and see what he used to be, why so many people adore him.

By Jann on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 12:06 pm:

The government could seize his property if he is behind in taxes, and their judgement would come before any civil suit.

By Sunny on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - 01:06 pm:

I think he did it.

By Feona on Thursday, February 17, 2005 - 07:13 am:

Of course it could be the person is just after another 25 million dollars. They need to get more proof than he said she said.

They need descriptions of his private parts and such or eye witnesses.

By Bellajoe on Thursday, February 17, 2005 - 09:17 am:

I think he is guilty and perverted.

By Colette on Thursday, February 17, 2005 - 11:42 am:

I don't know if he is guilty or innocent. He could be guilty as sin, he could have taken bad advice from advisors w/settling the prior civil cases. I really do not see how he's going to get a fair trial though.

By Mommmie on Friday, February 18, 2005 - 10:27 am:

I think he did it, but that his sense of reality is so warped that he doesn't think he's done anything wrong.

By Reds9298 on Friday, February 18, 2005 - 01:55 pm:

Pervert, freak, guilty. That sums it up for me.

By Missmudd on Friday, February 18, 2005 - 03:22 pm:

I try to keep an open mind but..... Most definately freaky.

By Palmbchprincess on Friday, February 18, 2005 - 06:00 pm:

The worst part is hearing that mothers were vying for his attention for their sons, trying to get Michael to like their son the best. These mothers let Michael sleep in their homes, allowed their children to sleep at Neverland and in hotels with Michael. Um, if some celebrity wanted to spend nights with my child, I most certainly would allow or encourage it!!

By Colette on Friday, February 18, 2005 - 06:15 pm:

ditto Crystal if that last sentence was supposed to say would not.

By Palmbchprincess on Friday, February 18, 2005 - 06:56 pm:

Yes, it should say emphatically "WOULD NOT!" The kids were distracting me as I finished that post!

By Kaye on Saturday, February 19, 2005 - 10:14 pm:

I will reply later, but wanted to say to amy...be careful saying you haven't heard anything, you might just land yourself on the jury!!! ROFL

By Vicki on Sunday, February 20, 2005 - 10:32 am:

Who really knows if he did or didn't do anything. I think from the childhood that man had, anything could be going on in that mind. But I think Crystal brings up an excellent point. You know, this man was accused of this once...why on earth would any parent allow their child to be with this man let alone sleep in bed with him or even be alone with him for that matter. In my opinion, the parents of the children should be tossed in jail too as well as the parents of any other child that was allowed to be there. To me, it really sounds like allot of these people are out for the dollar.

By Boxzgrl on Sunday, February 20, 2005 - 02:22 pm:

Ditto Vicki! DH and I were just talking about that the other day. Why is only Michael the one to blame? I think the parents of these children are just as guilty.

By Palmbchprincess on Sunday, February 20, 2005 - 08:23 pm:

I also think they should be charged with Child Endangerment if he is convicted, they allowed (and encouraged) their children to spend the night sharing a bed with a grown man, just because he was a star.

GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY

But I am sad about it. I am 41 so I remember him when he was little brother singing with his big brothers, they had a cartoon I watched as a kid and then I was teen ager when he was so popular with "Thriller". But yeah, he was abused, he said so in an interview with Oprah years ago, and his Dad was a real ugly person and not great with the kids. There is a rumor that when The Jackson Five was on American Bandstand Dick Clark was alarmed at some of the Father's treatment of the boys and tried to intervene and offended the parents and there was a big *****stink***** about it but I never saw that verified in print. Anyway, apparently the Father of the Jacksons (rumor) criticized their looks, called the his slaves, beat them, starved them, feed them amphatamines to keep them awake on the road, etc. Is it true?? Who knows. Would it make sense?? Absolutely.

It never ceases to amaze me the damage that can be done but treating children badly. It manifests itself in so many ways.....

but no pity parties here, either. Everyone must take responsibility for their own actions sooner or later, survivor of abuse or not, and Michael did it and he should stand trial and if proven guilty, be punished....all those poor kids....and their parents, yes, are responsible and should be held accountable. Will they be, who knows? Should they be? Absolutely.

Well, that's my lecture for today. :-)

I think he did it.
When you see all the shows about him on tv
and see how he used to look it is sad to
see what he did to himself. I saw a show the other night and this guy said when he was a kid
the Michael had phone sex with him. he never tried to get any money out of it. It just scared him. He said Michael was... well you know what
while talking to him and he asked him if he had ever done it before.

By Mrsheidi on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 - 04:14 pm:

Most of these parents are lured themselves. They don't have much and when they're invited to Neverland, it seems too good to them.

Michael most definitely did not have a good childhood. I really think he was hurt as a child and that it's spilling over into his "adulthood". He still likes to re-live his childhood because he never really had one. He feels a certain bond with children because he feels vulnerable himself...like a child with adult urges. So so so sad.
