has anyone read about this? this bothers me alot that today with all our technology and ways of communications and such that a man has to spend 41 months in prison and a week before his trial he is found innocent cuz there was no baby to kill ... his iq is 57 and hers is 40 and her sister was about the same lookin ... but with someones iq this low how can they held responsible for such a crime they dont totally understand the ramifications of this ... im not sure what they world should do about it but dang this bothers me alot !http://www.sltrib.com/2002/mar/03032002/nation_w/716067.htm

Now if there had been a baby and it was killed, I would want him locked up somewhere and not on the street. I didn't think they could lock up the mentally disabled such as this man. I wonder where they put him? In jail? In a special facility?

The bigger problem here is the court system, and the medical "professionals" who examined the wife. From the article, it sounds like everyone fumbled this one... because the people accused were mentally disabled. No medical tests, no lawyers, no real investigation.

I agree with all of you. IF there were a baby killed, a mental institution would be called for. But, who is watching out for the rights of the accused, who are little more than children (mentally speaking) themselves?

It's a terrible, terrible thing.
