Moms View Message Board: Prayer Requests: My fil and my family
please keep us in your thoughts fil's melanoma has come back and it looks as though it's metatastic. After the last few months this is the last thing he needs.
Colette, I am so sorry. Sending prayers your way.........
Collette, I will keep all of you in my prayers.
Hugs and prayers, Colette.
Colette, you have been through enough already!! I will be thinking of you, and your FIL. Sending prayers your way!
thanks - I don't officially know if it's metatastic, the lab results are not back, but the surgeon said it looks as though it probably is. We won't know anything else until 4/12.
Thoughts and Prayers to all.
Still praying...I hope everything is ok tommorrow.
Praying, too!
Prayers going out. Hope all is well.
How did everything go, Colette?
It went poorly as expected. It's now in his lymph nodes and he has to have a radical neck dissection. I am just greatful that we live close to Boston and the good hospitals down there.
I'm so sorry Colette When it rains..it pours.{{{Hugs and Prayers}}} for your family. How are your kids doing?
Thanks for asking, the kids are worried but ok.
i'm so sorry colette.
Yikes. Will keep him in my prayers.
Oh Colette, I am so sorry to hear this... big hugs and tons of prayers for you all........
He is going to the VA tomorrow in Boston for a consult with an ENT and an Oncologist. Dh is going with him. Please keep us in your thoughts.
I'm sorry. You know, Claire has been through the head/neck cancer issue with her DH. She may have some words of advice for you. Many thoughts and prayers are with you guys.

Thanks again. Dh said they are ordering a PET scan to see if it's anywhere else and then will proceed from there - or not proceed, if it's to bad.
It's much worse than I thought. They found spots in his lungs too. Please keep praying for us all. This is way to soon after losing my mil and I don't think we can handle much more.
Colette, see my post to you on your thread on Gen. Disc.
Prayers for all of you, Colette.
please keep him in your prayers. We just finished radiation 2 weeks ago(drove to boston every day for 2 weeks for a 15 minute treatment) and when I brought him to see the oncologist, the dr said "oh my God, look at the size of that". Not very encouraging words. they think the spots in his lungs are melanoma too, but they are not positive. I am going to a different Va hospital on Monday for a second opinion with a different oncologist. Hoping they will at least consider chemo or surgery, instead of just writing him off because of his age.
Sorry to hear that colette. A kind of unrelated question, how did he handle the radiation? Did it wipe him out, or was it really just not a big deal? I have a friend who is starting her radiation on monday, and I was curious.
My thoughts are with you and your family.
WE will be praying here. Good luck.
My thoughts and prayers are with you! I hope you hear better news when you get your 2nd opinion.
Keeping him in our prayers.
Praying for you all...
Considering what he is facing, I'm praying for miracles for all of you.
That's pretty much what we need now, a miracle. Went to the second oncologist yesterday, who was absolutely wonderful, but gently told him he's not a canidate for surgery or chemo. They are checking with someone at Dartmouth who is a melanoma expert to see if they can slow it down with some other drug.

Your family continues to be in my prayers. May He give you strength and comfort as you go through this.
Oh colette, along with everyone else I hope that everything will be alright. You and your family are in my thoughts too.
You are all in my thoughts... (((Colette)))
He passed away today. We had hospice (I do not recommend) and he died at home.
