Brett
Moms View Message Board: Prayer Requests: Brett
My ex's 18 year old cousin, Brett, was in a horrible accident over the weekend. He was in the back of a pickup with his buddies, being dumb and doing donuts (alcohol involved, unfortunately) and was thrown from the vehicle, then run over. He was medivac-ed to Wichita, and has injuries including a broken neck, crushed lungs, broken pelvis, and a broken ankle. At last update had made it through surgery to fuse his neck, and J said he looks better than he had been expecting, but this is especially hard on the family because Brett's mom died of cancer a year ago. Please keep Brett and their family in your thoughts and prayers...
OMGosh Crystal, I'm so sorry, that's just SO tragic! Your family is definitely in my thoughts and prayers. It's just heartbreaking, how so many teens/young adults just don't think of what can happen when they are *having fun*. I hope he will heal with no serious permanent damage...
How sad! Everyone involved will be in my prayers!
prayers for everyone involved!
Please keep us posted Crys. He and his family are in my thoughts and prayers...
Well, I just texted J to ask how Brett was, and he said he is good, they were able to sit him in a chair yesterday. Continued thoughts and prayers are appreciated. When everyone was freaking out when it first happened, I kept trying to remind J it is a lot easier to heal at 18 than even 28, so hopefully his age factors in well for him. Karen, I agree... when I first found out my response was "What a stupid thing to do, what's wrong with that boy?!" This is in part because the first time I had met him, he had messed his hand up while mudding in his new truck. (Thankfully, alcohol not involved that night.) I really hope he pulls through without permanent injury, and that this is a wake up call for all of the boys involved.
Prayers for Brett, how incredibly sad. Hopefully it will be a wake up call for all those involved. How tragic for the person who ran over him too. I can't imagine.
Prayers, Crystal. He's lucky--it could have been SO much worse. Let's hope he and the others learn from this.
Agreed, hopefully they learned something.
