This is a tragic event, and follows on the heels of the killing of another police officer a few days or a week earlier, and the wounding of two other officers. It is especially worrisome because it was broad daylight, in the morning. The man who has been identified as the probable shooter is the 21 year old son of a correction's officer and from what I've heard, it appears he may have taken her gun that morning to commit this crime. It happened not too far from the area where I used to live.

I used to live on Stenton Ave. with the back of our house facing 66th. I used to hang out at Tom's Pizzeria on Oak Lane. It's so ironic that he was killed there. I have such great memories of that neighborhood.
