My MIL

Moms View Message Board: Prayer Requests: My MIL
By Cocoabutter on Thursday, August 9, 2007 - 09:50 pm:

She goes in for the other tests tomorrow to see what is wrong with her liver. She is being so brave through all of this. She has a lot on her plate right now, and she needs prayers.

I know that no one here really knows me or who I am or who my MIL is. It's hard to believe that people that I don't even know would bother to pray for me and my problems and concerns. I just want to say that I appreciate all the support that you ladies give to everyone here. Your prayers really do work. My MIL is getting ministered to and is gaining strength mentally and emotionally and she will be strong.

Thank-you so much.

I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Good news! MIL called today and all her follow-up tests came back okay. The UTI was most likely caused by the cholesterol med. If it happens again, they will change it.

Thanks so much for your prayers.

I don't understand why the doctor's office felt it necessary to tel her that her liver could be shutting down. That was after she went to the ER and they took blood there, but before she went in for the follow-up blood tests. I don't know who she talked to, whether it was a nurse or a receptionist. The doctor was on vacation, so maybe it was the person filling in for the doctor. But they had us all worried for nothing, when they knew nothing for sure.

Thanks for the prayers!

Lisa, I often question why nurses give out information now a days. Use to be that the doctor didn't give information to the patient until he was sure of what was going on and he/she was the one that told you what test he wants done and what he might suspect face to face. Basically, no need to panic the patient until you say panic.. and the nurses weren't expected or aloud to give information to the patients as they aren't trained to answer questions or give diagnosis. The nurse would call, tell your test results were in and say we need to schedule a follow up. That would be extent of their contact with the patient.. You know??

Glad to hear that every thing had an quick answer and that she will be okay..
