Hi sorry it has taken a few days for a reply. Yes I just moved from Alaska. It is so beautiful there. You for sure have to be an outdoors person though. There isn't much else to do besides hike, hunting, fishing, and all that kind of stuff. There isn't much shopping where I was. All we had was a tiny Wal Mart and thank God for that. I have no clue where people shopped before it came about 4 years ago. If you ever go to visit they have a ferry system that will take you to many places. It leaves from Washington and goes way north. It is kind of spendy though. They also have the Alaska cruises. My aunt has been on a cruise at least twice to Alaska and she says it was so fun. The cruises will take you to all the glaciers and all that neat stuff. There for sure is a lot to see in Alaska. I didn't see much while there. My husband did though since he is in the Coast Guard and they did all there patrols in the Bering Sea. We have tons of pictures if you would ever like to see them let me know
I would LLLLOOOVVVEEE to see them!! Thank you so much! Did you live on or near the water? I'm sure your husband has seen some of those nasty Alaskan storms on the water. If my husband were up there doing that, I probably would have aged 10 years. I watched the show on the Discovery Channel about the men who go after the king crabs, and I couldn't believe their bravery. Did you have any encounters with any of the wildlife? Are you originally from there or was the weather hard to bear? Did you see the Northern Lights? OMG!! I'll stop for now. ))
I see that you have a public email so I will try and email the pictures to the address! I just deleted them off the computer a few weeks ago because we had over a thousand pictures on it and had to clean it up space.
I sent you some pictures to your public email! Hope you like them. Oh and by the way there were plenty of times I was scared for my husband. There was one time that he almost did die but thank goodness it was his last patrol otherwise I would be even more worried when he left. We did see the northern lights. We would try and take pictures of them but they would never turn out. My husband has some really nice pictures of sunsets out in the Bering though that I will send to you.
Shyan, Thank you so much!! The pictures are so beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to do that. It means a lot to me. (((HUGS))) Alaska is so beautiful. Do you ever miss it?
Hi! There are sometimes that I do miss it. It was so beautiful there and there was no crime. Never had to worry to leave doors unlocked or anything like that. The weather kid onf would get to you though because where we lived it rained soooo much. The summers would even be rainy. I made a lot of friends there though. Everyone is nice and friendly. There were a lot if Indians there as well. They had tons of totem pole parks to visit and museums. It is for sure a place to visit.
