get outside and work in the garden. Today is the first day of Spring and it is in the low 40s here and it is expected to be in the 40s all week.

Doesn't Mother Nature look at the calendar?

I guess I'll just have to enjoy the crocuses in bloom all over my yard and a few of my neighbor's daffodil plants that have bloomed until nature decides to change seasons.

Sunny I know what you mean. I went to Aco yesterday and all of the yard stuff they have out I want to get dirty so bad. I want to clean my yard and plant my flowers and see birds in green trees!!! OH what a dream!!!

I'm with you, Heather. I love spring and I love having a gorgeous lawn and flowerbeds but *I* don't want to be the one out there working in them! Our Mother's Day tradition is that DH and the kids do my front beds and I get flowers that last all spring and summer.

I sure wouldn't mind if it warmed up, though. We had one sunny day yesterday after six days of rainclouds and we're back to rainy cold for the next four days.

I substituted in a kindy room today with an intern and we were doing Circle time and were talking about it being the first day of Spring. One of the girls said "It's snowing outside!" and sure enough, it was! And just a few minutes later the Asst. Principal came over the intercom and announced that school was dismissing early!

I feel for those of you still dealing with bitter cold and snow.
If it makes you feel any better, I am very cold at the moment, too. I stood in a very long line outside, with all the kids, for a free Italian Ice from Rita's Water Ice. They've been giving away free Italian Ice's on the first day of Spring every year since 1993 and we just had to have one.

It is an interesting sight watching people eat water ice while wearing their winter coats.

I don't think spring will ever get to NE PA maybe only on the calendar! Its been in the 20's here today and windy. I can not wait to start my flowers and do yard work!
