We bought a sirius radio
We bought a sirius satellite radio this evening. We never get any good radio stations out here. So we broke down and bought one. We spent a little more then we wanted but in the long run it will be well worth it. I love hair nation it plays all 80's medal which that station will be on all the time. We also got the attachments to where we can bring it in to the house and use it or in the car. We gaet 121 channels a month for 12.95 the kids love it because they can listen to there kind of music without listening to the other stuff. Does anyone else own one and if so have they had any problems. The guy who sold it to us said he has never lost a signal the only time he has is when he went through a tunnel or pulls into a covered area
We have had the XM since October and LOVE it, we don't have great radio either so it's a huge difference, on XM I like TopTracks, it's great to be able to sing to every song played!
DH bought one of those about 6-8 months ago since Howard Stern was moving to Sirius. He is a huge fan. He said he loves it and never listens to the radio in his truck an more. He has a 45 minute commute to and from work everyday. Dh hasn't had any problems with his. The signal does get lost when you go under a bridge or in a tunnle but other than that it has been great! Congratulations!!!
We have sirius as well. My DH love hair nation You can also listen to it online for free, if you are a subscriber.
We have XM and are happy with it, we chose it because it had more channels but honestly we only listen to a few of them. We have the house and car hook ups, the cool thing about the house set up is it can wirelessly transmit to any stereo, as long as you set it to the chosen channel (we use 88.3, since it's static on FM) The two things that bug me are the rep told us the signal will pick up unless we are in a parking garage or something similar with many floors. Reality is when we are in our carport, or driving under the metal overhangs for the checkpoint on post, we lose signal. The other is I am paying for commercial-free, unedited music, and they still bleep things. Granted, there are some "raw" channels, but if I want to hear the song say $h!+ or something, that's what I'm paying for!! LOL. A note to Dish Network subscribers, you can listen to Sirius even if you aren't a subscriber, Directv had XM, but Dish has a contract with Sirius. I might take advantage of that to listen to Howard Stern (the only thing on Sirius that was "better", IMO, when we were deciding! Anyway, enjoy it!!!
I had dish where we moved form and it has Sirius on there, i liked it , the 60's and 70's station where my favorite. I did blocked it out on my daughters television thought , her older cousins would often tune to the un cut stations. But I just joined a car sharing program offered in,my area called Zipcar, and all of there cars are equipped with XM , this was my first weekend renting and I enjoyed it , never played the car radio while I was in there. Congrats , oh and by the way the only time I lost signal was when I did go into a tunnel.
