I posted a pic on the photo board of dining room wall... I am wondering if I decide *not* to do the whole room like this can I get this joint compound off with warm water and a sponge??? MAybe some type of cleaner? Or should I just cover it with another layer of mud (joint compound)? I am worried about the wall not being even. LOL Guess I should have thought of that before I started. :) HA

BTW- I forgot how much painting trim stinks. lol I'd much rather paint walls and let dh do all trim work. But that just isnt going to happen right now. I'll just Git R Done.

Thanks for any help!

If it is still wet and not dried completely you can scrape it off. Otherwise, you are looking at sanding it off. By texturing a wall you will not have it even.

I looked at your photo. I am confused by the amount of layers? I simply put 1 layer of joint compound on my walls. I textured it by scraping it with a spatula. Once it dried, I painted a base coat and then sponged on different color glazes. If you layer the joint compound too much it will crack and may not stay well on the walls.

Well, see what a mess the wall was in the before pic? It took 3 thin coats to cover it up... :( I read online where you could tint your JC with your base coat paint. It looks like stucco kind of? I dont know that mine does- but thats what it said online. LOL Anyway... Worse case dh can just replace the sheet rock here. I am sure he will love me for that. :)
