I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!
I start on monday next week. $15 an hour. I'm shaking so hard but I'm so excited. She's going to draft the details into a letter and send them to me. I'll write more later when I've stopped shaking!

Oh Catherin. That's wonderful. I'm so happy for you and so proud of you.
Now, start getting your ducks in a row. Sort out what is going to happen with the children - especially who picks up your little girl from school or what happens with her after school. I would urge that you also think about afterschool activities for your son. I know he's old enough to be home alone, but at his age that may not be a great idea.
Go through your wardrobe, and mend, iron, etc., so that the first week of work all you have to do is walk out of your shower and into your clothes.
Start thinking about how you will manage the home stuff when you are not home 5 days a week. Here's where your son can be a real help, and probably, after you get your first paycheck, could get a raise in allowance if he is a help.
I am so very, very happy for you. Congratulations and then some.

Ginny I've thought of my son and what I'm going to do but he'll only be home for about 20 minutes before I get home from work and the job is 5 blocks from my house...
I have before and after school care set up at our old place, I had them there when I was taking my pre-employment program. They start back there right after spring break that takes care of professional development days and everything. I have back up care in place for if they're sick and my friend is going to watch them for the first few days of spring break and my ex has them thursday and friday. I've started sorting my wardrobe today just in case so I'm going to pick out clothes for this week so I'm not all nervous and don't show up looking silly! LOL
I know about the home stuff I think that's going to be the biggest hurdle. The good thing is there are only evenings a few times a year and NEVER any weekends

I'm just now reading this and am so excited for you! It sounds like you are so prepared for this! That is so great for you! I can't imagine how excited (and nervous) you must be right now! How much of a burden this will take off of your shoulders!
And such a quick answer for you, too! You'll have all weekend to be excited, and to get prepared for it!

Just make sure to lay your clothes and everything out the night before. You wouldn't believe how much more smoothly it makes things go in the morning. If I don't do that, then in the morning it seems like nothing looks right, or matches, or is clean or something!

And, girl, forget the closet! Spoil yourself with a new outfit. It will always be "that outfit" that will remind yourself of the courage it took to get out there again!!! Wear it on the first day and hope that your electricity doesn't go out again!!!

I'm so happy for you! And, it's nice knowing that your family is still taken care of and that they are comfortable with this change. It takes courage on their part as well!

LOL! I sure hope it doesn't go out again! Geezzz my boss would wonder about that excuse for sure LOL! I'm going on Sunday to look for some nice dress pants at least. My gf just gave me some nice shirts and dress jackets and stuff and I had some office attire in my closet!
The kids think it's great! The two little ones are excited to be getting to go back to before and after school care AND with my new job *dances* I'll be able to afford the difference from what subsidy pays
The nervousness is definitely starting to settle in LOL! I have butterflies big time. I'm going to be sorting my clothes for the whole week this weekend so I'm not stressing about it.
I'll be sure to let you know how the first day goes! Ohhhhhhh and I get a key to the building/office in case I'm the first one there!
