My little girl is...
*gasp* 16!!! I can't understand how this happened! Who's in charge?!
Happy SWEET 16 to your DD!!
Her name is Jordan...I forgot to add that! We had two days in Chicago for her b-day...she brought a couple of friends and we shopped the Mag Mile all day yesterday in the snow and rain! Ugh! (Of course, this coming weekend will be in the 60s. Gotta love the Midwest) Ate at Bubba Gump's, stayed downtown, rode in a taxi, didn't get to go to the Hancock Building or Sears Tower, as visibility was zero, but we had a lot of fun anyway. Tomorrow we go to get her driver's license... I AM SO NOT READY FOR THIS!!!!
Happy Sweet 16, Jordan
Happy birthday to Jordan! I'm sure she had so much fun even through the rain and snow! Poor mom though! It must be so hard hitting those milestones like that. My oldest will be going to the middle school next year and it makes me want to cry everytime I think about it. I know everyone at the Primary and I work there, but I'll be "just another parent" when she's at the middle school! It's so hard to see them grow up, isn't it!
Happy *sweet 16th* b'day to Jordan! LOL Janet - we are NEVER ready for the driver's license thing!!!!!
That's awesome!! Hope you have a great birthday!!!
Happy Birthday, Jordan! It's funny about driver's licenses. When I was 16, I was so ready and mature to get one! In my mind, anyway. Now that my dd is turning 15 soon, I think 16 is way too early for someone to drive! LOL
Happy Birthday Jordan!! Sounds like she had a fun birthday. My oldest DS turns 12 on Friday and it's freaking me out. How can it only be a year away before he's an official teenager?? Of course, he thinks he's one now anyway. They grow too fast!
Thing is, I remember all the STUPID things I did when I started driving, that my mom and dad never knew about... I agree. Kids shouldn't drive until they are 30. OK, maybe 25. I think the hardest part about all of this is that Jordan and I are very close, and she has always told me everything. Lately, though, she's developed a "secret life" that I'm not privy to, and it's driving me NUTS! Now, I realize that's healthy and even desirable for our children, but it makes me lonely, you know?
Sounds like you had fun! Happy Birthday, Jordan! I remember you talking about this! My 16yo would LOVE to go shopping on the Mag Mile! Sarah tells me most things, isn't too interested in boys yet, gets good grades, loves band and generally behaves herself! I saw 2 sexually active teens at the clinic where I work! Yikes! the 15yo was pregnant and had to have gotten preggers, when she was still 14! That is not my kid, thank goodness! We've not only made it through 15, but we have made it through half of being 16, already!
