Does anyone have a subscription to Greatschools.net?
I need help finding information on the local jr. high for my daughter, in our new area. Thanks in Advance
Stori, what type of information are you looking for?? I have been using www.schoolmatters.com to find out info on schools in the area we may be moving to. I don't know if it will have what you want, but it is worth a try.
Debbie, are you moving back to texas? If so you probably want to also check out TEA.org, that is the official site (texas education agency)
Kaye, we don't know for sure yet where we are going. I was actually checking into St. Louis(where dh is currently working) If we move back to Texas it will be Dallas or San Antonio, and I know those areas and which school districts we want to live in. Dh's company is doing some reorganization in the next few months, so we are waiting to see what happens. Since I don't know anything about St. Louis schools, we are getting prepared, just in case we end up there. But, thanks for the link, I will check it out.
Thanks for the link Debbie. We are also looking toward a move and that site will be really helpful for us!
Thanks Debbie! I just wanted to know if they were good and read some parent reviews.
Glad it helped.
I didnt have to have a subscription to get some basic info on Greatschools.net? I sent it to my sister when she thought she was moving to Texas and she was able to find out a little about the schools in the area she was looking at. I am going to bookmark the site you posted Debbie. Thanks! BTW, We like to visit St. Louis Debbie. It's pretty fun. I overheard dh asking his Dad if he could get us some tickets to a Cardinals game for this yr. I hope you know something soon about where you are moving! I know its stressful living in limbo.
Conni, you can only get certain information without a subcription. Also, it gave me information the first time I went onto the site, but after that, it told me I had to buy a subscription. I have finally accepted that we may be in St. Louis. We have found a really nice suburb southwest of St. Louis. Several people that work for dh live there and really like it. They also have great schools there. I am still hoping and praying something comes open in Texas so we can be closer to family. But, if we have to live in St. Louis, I guess we will survive. You know, both my boys are BIG baseball fans. Dh can get Cardinals tickets through work, so that is one good thing.
Hey Debbie, where in St. Louis are you looking? My parents lived in St. Louis for over 10 years and just recently moved back down south. I LOVE ST. Louis!!! It is a great city! They lived in the Ballwin/Ellisville/Manchester area.
We are looking at the St. Charles/O'Fallon/ Wentzville area. It is a little west(about 20-30 min.)of where your parents lived. Dh's office is actually really close to where your parents were. It's nice to hear from someone who really likes it there. Unfortunately, I am getting mixed feedback from people about living there. I am really trying to keep an open mind about it. All the people that dh works with seem very nice.
Actually, Pam.... The area we are looking at is North of where your parents lived and West(and a little North)of St. Louis. We have looked at so many areas, I am starting to get confused.
