Just Curious...
How many of your dh/significant others know about or show interest in Momsview? I've been lurking for about 3 years, I go through periods where I respond more than others though I feel I have been fairly active lately. My dh has just really learned that I participate in this board and as of right now doesn't really have any interest. He just considers it "one of my things." So... just curious as to others dh's.
My Dh knows about it. When there is something going on with our children he tells me to ask the women on here. He knows how knowledgeable you all are.
My husband is aware of it. He knows of many other boards I frequent as well. He really has no interest in it. I mean sometimes I may tell him something interesting Ive read. For the most part he doesnt say too much about what I do on here, and I dont really get into his business either.
Ditto Paulas. My DH says the same!
I talk about this board, but he really has no interest. He never asks well how is so and so. But I often comment about oh suchand such did this and he at least feigns interest
I tell him about stuff on here all the time and drag the poor guy to meet several of you. I can't say he's wildly interested, but he does pay attention when I speak and he's reasonably social when we meet.
I talk about the board and he's even posted a couple of times under my name when there has been an appliance question (he sells them) and I ask him for advice for you gals on here. I'm not sure how much he knows about it lol like how long I've been here and the like. He knew all about the secret santa and how excited I was etc. You know men...they don't always listen well
I talk to DH about post on here all the time, (weather he is really listening who knows) LOL I just had him sit down and look at Bea's pics of her house. He loved them. The only interest he would show is if it was about fixing cars..LOL
Dh knows I come here but rarely shows much interest. He jokingly refers to it as the "hen house" and says he can tell when I am visiting the site because I start pecking the keyboard. LOL. He's lucky he's so darn cute. ;)
I talk about it, but I don't think he really cares! LOL! He has his own message board, full of Volkswagon TDI owners! LOL! He even went to an event in the summer, when they all got together!
Geez, I'm the exception, DH ALWAYS asks me *how are things with the mommies today? Anything new and interesting to report?* LOL
Same here, Karen! He always asks me how you guys are doing!!! Partly because he knows I don't get out much anymore! LOL
Mine joined to wish our children a happy birthday 2 years ago (his first year with them) and he sometimes reads if I mention a particular discussion (usually a debate) LOL!
My dh listens politely to the threads that I am interested in and I do the same for him when he tells me about his football board! LOL
Mine knows about it but really doesn't pay much attention. If I tell him about something and then bring it up again, he'll remember what I'm talking about but he never asks about it. Of course, he's that way about my "real life" friends, too.
mine knows, he has even taken the keyboard from me and jumped in on a debate. My ds is the one that makes the comments "Are you going to put that on the internet too!" (Usually when he has done something really funny like trying to make more paper by copying one)
Kristie, my DH also sometimes has *input*! LOL And very often, he will email me things about child passenger safety or recalls and note that this could be important for *your moms*. :-)
lol, Karen thats awsome that he does that!
Dh knows I talk a lot with everyone, and I often mention that I asked "The Mommies," or, "The Mommies said.." But he's never been here or asked me about it specifically.
I've thought about this some more and I guess I talk about the board like you guys are in my life as the kind of friends I could go out for coffee with. I'll say "Ginny this" or "Heidi this" or "Cat this" Heck I even use names when I mention someone's children doing something! LOL! I remember the time I mentioned talking to Ginny's son and his back bristled a little! LOL I said hey! you gotta cut slack on that one I've known him longer than I've known you I guess I talk about it a lot. I imagine he doesn't remember all the names and all I've said but he hears about it a lot. You all are like extended family to me. I come here before going to anyone else.
My dh know that I come here. At first he was skeptical, because of course there are scary freaks lurking on the internet. But at some point he relaxed about it. He really isn't interested at all. But I have told him about my recent posts about the decisions on our kitchen and he listen and took them to heart. He appreciates the person who told me to listen to my dh about the hardwood! LOL
Catherin, I do the same thing!!! Of course, sometimes DH will be like "Momsview?!" when I mention someone he doesn't know, but now with my blog I'll talk about someone from there too, so he just smiles and nods. LOL! Of course, the payback is when he'll say "P-Dap (don't ask about the nickname for one of his buddies) this", or "Thompson that" and I'm all "WHO?" because he's either talking abotu a soldier I don't know, or someone I only know by their first name. Then I'll say "Oh, can you ask Chris this", and he's all "Who?!" because they all use last names. it's irritating!!
My dh reads a lot of the post. This is my first, and only, board of any kind,so I share a lot of things about it to him.He was with me during my first secret santa. When it came time to go to the chat room,I couldn't get in for some reason.I was so upset ,I cried. So,this year's secret santa,I couldn't get my info to email to Jackie for some strange reason. So,he worked for over FOUR hours(into the wee hrs. of the morning)and finally got the email to go through. He was as excited about it as I was.He said he knew how much it meant to me to be able to be a part of the fun.Sometimes ,at night, before bedtime,he'll ask" are you moms-viewing tonight?"
