Cold compress idea
This is brilliant...I just thought of it. DD,10, is sick with a fever and headache. She likes to have a cold compress on her forehead when she has a fever. Usually I put ice into a baggie and wrap into a handtowel. The baggie slips out...huge pain. Tonight I put the baggie into one of my dd's ankle socks. Baggie of ice stays inside of the cloth without slipping out and is easier for her to manage. It only took me 14 plus years to think of this idea! I thought I would share!
Good thinking!! I will definitely use that idea. I hope she feels better soon.
Thanks, Melanie. Dd is our active one. She missed her first softball team practice, basketball tournament plus school. Hopefully she'll feel better tomorrow. I'm sure the new compress will help a great deal.
As my son would say (and as you did say) - Brilliant! I'll have to remember that. Speaking of taking a long time to figure things out - One of the cats my dear mother brought with her liked to go into the bathroom and pull hand towels off the shelves behind the doors (and even an occasional bath towel), and drag them out into the hall, meowing triumphantly - look what I caught!. It only took me 5 years to figure out that the way to prevent this is to keep the bathroom door closed.
That's funny, Ginny! I had one of those bright ideas again today. I keep my saran wrap, tin foil, bags, wax paper, etc in a kitchen drawer. I always had to pull the entire drawer out to find what I wanted. But, lightbulb moment today, I turned the boxes the long way so I can see all of them at once! DUH!
Those are great ideas. My drawer where the bags go, is to skinny to place the boxes horizontally. They have to go vertically!
Annie, you are too funny!
We use bags of frozen corn or peas for ice packs. They wrap around any body part needed, and can just be refrozen when they start to thaw out.
Thank you!
