What Mini-Van do you have?
Okay, we have 2 payments left on our 1999 Ford Windstar. Well, last Saturday night we had an accident & it's probably totalled! The other driver ran the red turn arrow & it was toooooo late for me to stop. Everyone came out okay. Worst was that my g-ma (83) suffered bruised ribs & a badly bruised knee. I have an appointment w/a chiropractor on Monday b/c my neck & back are hurting. All three boys checked out good at the ped. Thank GOD for the booster seat that Luke (4) was in! He came out the best of all of us! His first word after were..."Mom, I'm still hungry!" The other 2 (10 & 13) had bruising from the shoulder belts & some neck & shoulder pain for a couple of days. I was hoping to pay that van off this week & save for a while before we bought another vehicle, BUT it looks now like we are in the market for a new one sooner than later. SO my question is... What mini van do you drive? What do you like or not like about it. For instance...The Ford Windstar: I never really liked the way that it drove b/c it was more truck like than the Dodge Caravan that we had before it. BUT now I'm ver happy with how it did as far as injuries in the crash! So we could very possibly be looking for another one of those! I'm looking at used (probably CarMaX where we got the last one) most likely 2003 or maybe 2004.
I love my Honda. We too had a wreck in ours, and since it held up well I will only buy honda as long as I can afford it.
I love my Dodge!!!! It's a 2002 Grand Caravan Sport.
I have the 2005 Honda Odyssey and I love it!
I have a 2002 Windstar that I LOVE. Had a 1996 Windstar before that, and drove it for 9 years until buying this one (used) in September. Couldn't be happier (well, MAYBE better gas mileage, lol!)
I drove a Toyota Sienna for 3 yrs. It was a good vehicle. But it is the only vehicle I have ever had that I ran into EVERYTHING (i happen to be a very good driver so this was frustrating). 6 mos after I got it I was telling dh it was jinxed and we needed to get rid of it. ROFL I have so many stories from that darn van. lol When I had it in the paper trying to sell it, the first question people asked was 'Is it the new body style?' And of course it wasnt. We tried to sell it for months and months at a great price (very nice had every option, etc) and finally dh took one day and traded it in for a little car for himself to drive to work (Nissan 350Z)... If you get a Toyota Sienna get the NEW body style!!! Thats JMO...Or get the new Honda van. I am now back to driving a lg 4x4 crew cab truck w/ NO problems at all. I haul loads on trailers thru town, can back truck and trailer in anywhere, etc... I *really* think that van was jinxed!!!!!!!!! Dh informed me and the kids there would never be another minivan in this family. ROFL He hated it too. Have fun researching them and car shopping!! I am SO sorry to hear you had a wreck. Hope everyone heals quickly. That is scary.
How scary! I'm glad you are none the worse for wear and are all on the mend. I have a 2004 Nissan Quest. I love it. It has automatic everything, 2nd row captians chairs, leather everywhere, navigation, dvd etc.... Fun vehicle. Also all the big safety features. It's great for family trips. Ame
What a frightening experience!! I am so glad everyone is okay. I have been driving my Toyota Sienna for 7.5 years and I still love it. The best thing is it's safety and reliability. We live on a mountain which I am up and down several times a day, so my van gets a heavy workout. I have had no problems with it whatsoever. Nothing but regular maintenance stuff. This year I will be in the market for another vehicle, and it will be another Sienna. They have definitely earned my loyalty.
I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna and love it!
{{{Karrie and family}}} So glad to hear everyone is OK! Be sure to keep a close eye on everyone because sometimes injuries don't show up until later. Any car seats or boosters in the van at the time of the crash will need to be replaced. I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna LE AWD (new body style) and LOVE, LOVE it! Very high reliability and safety ratings. Side curtain air bags and all seating positions have headrests and both lap and shoulder belts. This is our second Sienna. No problems, just regular maintenance.
BTW, Karrie, I forgot to give HUGS for your family, we were in a minor accident, and that was traumatic enough, so I really hope everyone is ok with you guys!!!!!
