This time 5 years ago mom and I went walking around the neighborhood. I'd spent the previous night in L&D and the nurse winked at me and said "you go walking tomorrow and you'll have that baby in the next 24 hours". We took it to heart and walked and walked, I walked from 6-10 around the neighborhood then we headed to the mall. It was so funny when I'd walk past the Foot Locker a guy asked me when I was due and I told him I was walking to speed up the labor and was actually in labor his reply was "just keep right on walking right past here" lol.... We walked until 3 with them getting pretty intense to where I would have to stop. Finally at 5:00 we head to the hospital and Chuck got there after work. I asked for an epidural at 9:45 and after 3 pushes at 10:43 he was born, I went from 4-10 in 1 hour.

Today was the day five years ago that I became what I consider the luckiest person alive ( I know we feel that way about our children), my sweet baby boy was born.

Now my baby boy is a little "boy" learning new things everyday, constantly putting a smile on my face and making us laugh, he's bright, sensitive, and a true sweetheart. These past 5 years have been the best years of my life thanks to this sweet little boy, can't wait to see the next 5,10,15, 20....

Christy, i did the same thing. Walked around the block several times a day to go into labor (i realize you were already in labor when you did it). My neighbor, who already had a child, asked my dh if i was trying to go into labor....she was right!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! We had a great day, he went to his pre-k today and my mom, sister, and I went up there at snack time with a cookie cake. They did the birthday routine for him and then ate the cookie cake, we decided to let him leave early. We took him to eat at his favorite place to eat Cici's pizza (I HATE it but it was his day) then we went to Toys R Us for him to pick out a birthday present from my mom. First he played at the play area (those are sooo cool) and then took almost 2 hours to finally decide on what to get. He ended up with an Etch-a-sketch (spelled wrong I'm sure) and a puppy that has a carrier and vet supplies (really cute). FINALLY we made it back home only to have to leave at 4 for his acting classes, they sang happy birthday to him and they had a great class. He went to bed one exhausted five year old this evening!

Still an hour to go to when he was officially born lol....
